Business Data Analyst

Job Description

Reporting to the Senior Quality Director, the Business Data Analyst helps identify opportunities to grow, optimize and improve S&C’s business processes. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated experience in data modelling and dashboard deployment. The individual will support data-driven strategic initiatives through quantitative analysis.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Interpret data, analyze results using statistical techniques and provide ongoing reports.
• Develop and implement databases, data collection systems, data analytics and other strategies that optimize statistical efficiency and quality.
• Investigate, analyze, and develop recommendations that support key projects and business decisions, providing recommendations for tangible actions.
• Acquire data from primary or secondary data sources and maintain databases/data systems.
• Identify, analyze, and interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets.
• Filter and “clean” data by reviewing computer reports, printouts, and performance indicators to locate and correct code problems.
• Work with management to prioritize business and information needs.
• Locate and define new process improvement opportunities.
  
  

Minimum Requirements

• A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Management, Statistics, or a comparable discipline.
• 1 - 3 years experience in data analysis.
• Possess a solid foundation in statistics and practical experience with statistical software and mastery in data analysis languages including SQL and Python.
• Strong analytical abilities to compile, structure, examine, and present substantial data sets with precision and thoroughness.
• Capable of critically evaluating data to derive meaningful, actionable insights.
• Demonstrate superior communication and presentation capabilities, adept at simplifying complex data insights for audiences without a technical background.
  
  

Work Schedule: Hybrid (2 days WFH)

Physical Effort

Normal or frequent minor physical effort required for the day-to-day activity in the workplace. May involve standing, sitting, walking, climbing stairs and lifting/moving/using objects or equipment up to 5kg/11lbs
