Job Title: Senior Data Analyst 

Location: Very flexible - we’re happy for folks to work WFH and lots of us do. We only ask that you come into our London office a couple of times a month for team strategy days and socials - but of course, you're more than welcome to come in as much as you like! (+ we're working a 4 day work week - Fridays off!) 🏡

Contract: Permanent

Salary: £62,000 - £74,000 + share options + benefits listed below

About the role:


We’re in search of a Senior Data Analyst who’ll join our Data Analytics and Science team, sitting within our Tech (Engineering) division at Cuvva.

As our new Senior Data Analyst, you’ll be at the heart of ensuring we hit our team Mission and Vision. You’ll play a crucial part in driving change in how we report, measure, test & scale. 


At Cuvva, our Data Teams are not seen as a support function whereby you wait for requests to come in and react to change. Instead, our Data teams are embedded partners, where you’ll proactively help to identify ground breaking opportunities, thought provoking insights, as well as, have a lens on what other interesting information we may want to track. It’s a true partnership where you’ll also be tasked with establishing best practices whilst acting as a business partner for your key stakeholders.


Product is the key area where you’ll be expected to make an impact, though in keeping with our Data Team way of working, you’ll also drive information, solutions and analytical output within the wider Cuvva community (Marketing, Finance, Operations etc)

We have a healthy obsession with understanding what our customers do, how they interact with us and how we can utilise this information to drive an bespoke end-user experience whilst driving the commercial viability of our product . With a Data focussed approach, we’re looking for someone to help us make better decisions, consider different avenues and bring forward solutions that we may not have yet considered. 


On a day-to-day basis you’ll be:


  • Manipulating, analysing & interpreting complex data sets and provide insights to the business
  • Collaborating with other Data Analytics and Data Engineering team members on analytical projects (big and small) via Standups & planning sessions
  • Working in collaboration with our Data Analytics Engineering Manager to provide analytical support, mainly but not limited to, our Product team; this can range from general business insights, to ad-hoc analysis, construction of dashboards, reporting development/automation and data migration projects 
  • Enhancing our BI capabilities, we use Looker for both self-serve analysis and delivering monthly/weekly reporting
  • Supporting in improving access to our data through documentation and training, whilst identifying opportunities to improve processes and workflows for the finance team and wider Cuvva community 
  • Assisting in the process of defining metrics, validating KPIs and building dashboards that accurately track performance
  • Working with stakeholders on requirements for analysis and driving data discovery, in parallel with Product & or Core Engineering discovery 
  • Analysing Data patterns & end user behaviours whilst thinking ahead and future pipelining, working in collaboration with Product, Engineering & Design teams 
  • Positively challenge our approach and ways of working, having a real connectedness with our Product teams, where you’ll make recommendations & suggestions by understanding what we want to track & why 
  • Contribute to Mixpanel robustness, working to ensure the accuracy, consistency and documentation of events. Participating in testing sessions and being on top of product specs whilst working on report automation for optimising of processes, ensuring standards


You’ll do great here if you have: 


  • Exceptional stakeholder management skills, with the ability to partner, coach and support your key stakeholders by asking the right questions to support their business needs, whilst keeping them up to date on agreed and set tasks/deliverables via Slack/Google Meets 
  • Have strong collaboration skills and ability to work cross functionally 
  • Proven and superb understanding of SQL & Python jupyter notebooks
  • Mastered the ability to build, maintain and utilise Dashboards 
  • Understanding of A/B Testing & Experimentation for optimising product features, (Frequentist/Bayesian) enhancing user engagement, marketing campaigns and ultimately increasing conversion rates or other key performance indicators (KPIs)
  • Understanding of Supervised Learning Techniques such as regression, decision trees, random forests, support vector machines (SVM), and neural networks for decision making automation
  • Understanding of Unsupervised Learning: Methods like k-means clustering, hierarchical clustering, and principal component analysis (PCA).
  • Have problem-solving skills, as well as, great communication and presentation skills to explain output/information in a manner that is easily understood by your target audiences (Data storytelling/Data insights) 
  • Have utilised data in your current role in a problem solving capacity either as a Data Analyst, Data Scientist, BI Analyst or Product Analyst


It’s a bonus if you: 


  • Have experience using Looker, building insightful data visualisations
  • Have a background and or interest in Product or insurance 
  • Have an interest in AI, Machine Learning & Data Science
