How You'll Help:

You will shadow one of our senior data engineers and learn first hand about building and maintaining a data warehouse for higher education. Using SQL and Python, you will ensure the institutional data is reliable and loaded in a timely manner. Working closely with colleagues, you will help expand our reporting models to meet changing university goals.

What You Will Do:

  • Perform: SQL development, unit testing, and deployment of ETL solutions
  • Analyze: Trends in performance to proactively prevent problems
  • Troubleshoot: ETL issues in real-time and diagnoses the root cause

You Will Be a Good Fit For This Role If You:

  • Have 3+ year(s) in ETL/SQL and related experience
  • Understand data warehouse concepts and structures
  • Hold professional experience developing SQL queries, analyzing data, systems integrations
  • Possess understanding on translation requirements into SQL specifications
  • Have experience with at least one oriented programming language (Python, Java , etc)
  • Exhibit competency with AWS tools or any other Cloud Service Platform
  • Gained exposure to Non-SQL data transformation approaches
  • Enjoy flexibility, and working in a fast-paced and changing environment
  • Encompass an analytical approach and the ability to think on the fly
  • Strive to explore and find solutions with minimal supervision
  • Drive to excel at remote learning/working

About You:

We are seeking a Data Engineer to join our technical team working on challenging data integration projects. We value innovative employees who have a sense of ownership in their work and perform well in a fast-paced, collaborative team environment. You will work on a combination of exciting new projects and initiatives while also working to improve and maintain HelioCampus’ existing solutions (using cloud technologies). You will become an integral part of a fast-growing team of ETL, BI developers and analysts dedicated to the success of higher education.

Location:

HelioCampus has three locations, Bethesda, MD, Chapel Hill, NC, and Philadelphia, PA. This specific role is primarily remote, with occasional travel to an office or client site
