Job Summary:

We are seeking a Senior Data Engineer with a robust engineering background and extensive experience in AWS services to enhance our data capabilities. This role is pivotal in analyzing, designing, and implementing data solutions that support strategic decisions and innovation across our brands.

Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and optimize data pipelines using PySpark, ensuring scalability and efficiency.
  • Leverage AWS services (Glue, DataBrew, S3, StepFunctions, Lambda, DataZone, Athena) for comprehensive data processing and analytics solutions.
  • Implement robust data validation and quality assurance processes to maintain high data integrity.
  • Collaborate effectively within an agile product environment, ensuring dynamic and successful project outcomes.
  • Engage in collaborative projects with data architects, engineers, analysts, scientists, product owners, and scrum masters to deliver holistic data & AI products.
  • Participate in academic collaborations, particularly with McGill University, to drive innovation and knowledge exchange.
  • Work closely with industry partners to align our data strategy with current trends and best practices.

DO YOU HAVE THE PROFILE WE'RE LOOKING FOR?

Required Skills:

  • Strong proficiency in SQL, data analysis, and PySpark.
  • Extensive experience with AWS services, including S3, DynamoDB, DataZone, Glue, QuickSight, Lambda, DataBrew, and StepFunctions.
  • Demonstrated ability to translate business needs into technical solutions with a focus on data integrity and quality.
  • Excellent communication skills and a proven ability to work effectively in a team.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in data engineering, with a strong foundation in data analysis and engineering principles.
  • Familiarity with the Retail, Fashion & Wholesale sector, ERP systems (SAP ECC, SAP S4 Hana, SAP CDS Views), and Supply Chain Management.
  • Experience working in agile product environments and collaborating on academic and industry projects.

Assets:

  • Candidates with a track record of contributing to data architecture and strategy within agile environments will be given special consideration.

Working Conditions:

  • Flexible remote work options are available, with at least two days per week required in the Montreal office to foster collaboration and team synergy.
  • Candidates must be able to operate within the Montreal time zone.
