Position

The National Reconnaissance Office (NRO) is the U.S. Government agency in charge of designing, building, launching, and maintaining America’s intelligence satellites.

Apogee's ideal Data Scientist will work as part of a small dynamic team of data scientists and software developers to help Apogee & our client conduct data analysis, visualizations, and deliver data-driven insights to enable reduction in cost and complexity, increase trust and integrity, and improve operational mission effectiveness and strategies.

Required

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Experience in Data Science/Data Analysis/Data Visualization
  • Knowledge and Experience applying Analytics (Finance, HR, Social Sciences, Engineering, and Operations Research)
  • Experience working within a team to deliver client solutions
  • Ability to interface and present effectively with leadership/customer/stakeholder to drive decision making

Desired Skills

  • BS in Mathematics, Engineering, Programming; Bachelor's in finance, Economics, Criminology or related
  • 2-years' experience in Data Science/Data Analysis/Data Visualization
  • Data Engineering Knowledge/Experience:
    • Tableau, SQL, R and/or Python, Apache Spark is a plus
    • Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE)
    • Relational database and data Warehouse modeling and schema design
    • ETL automation
    • No-SQL and big data systems
    • Statistical Analysis & Techniques experience:
      • Advanced analytics techniques (regression, clustering, forecasting, simulation, machine learning)
      • Interrogation of external or internal data sources to support analytic methods and visualization techniques
      • Business Process & Operations quantitative analysis
