Senior Data Engineer

As a Senior Data Engineer, you will join a team with ambitious plans to power Private Market data intelligence and insights. Reporting to the VP of Engineering and working closely with the Data Engineering and Data Science teams, Head of Product, and our squads with development partners, you will be our key member on our growth journey.

Key Responsibilities

• Create and maintain data pipelines
• Assemble large, complex data sets that meet product and business requirements
• Identify, design, and implement internal process improvements: automating manual processes, optimizing data delivery, re-designing infrastructure for greater scalability, etc
• Build the infrastructure required for optimal extraction, transformation, and loading of data from a wide variety of data sources
• Build analytics models or tools that utilize the data pipeline to provide actionable insights into customer acquisition, operational efficiency and other key business performance metrics
• Work with stakeholders to assist with data-related technical issues and support their data infrastructure needs
• Have a security minded focus when designing pipelines to protect end user data
• Work with data and analytics experts to strive for greater functionality in our data systems

Requirements

• 3-5 years of experience in a Data Engineer or Analytics Engineering role
• Extensive experience in manipulating, processing, modelling and extracting value from large, disconnected datasets
• Extensive experience in API development
• Advanced SQL knowledge and experience working with relational databases, complex query authoring (SQL) as well as a solid familiarity with a variety of SQL databases (MySQL, Postgres)
• Expert proficiency of Python and Object-Oriented Programming practises. Strong focus on code quality, unit and E2E testing
• Familiarity with cloud data services (Azure preferable), JIRA, Confluence
• Proficiency with data warehouse design and modelling
• Humble: you acknowledge your strengths, and your weaknesses
• A genuine interest in the world of finance. Familiarity with the private equity lingo will be a plus but not essential
• A degree in STEM is preferable but not essential
• Industry experience: Pharmaceuticals, Banking, Insurance, Wealth&Asset Management, Consulting in FIG, or similar tech start-ups
