Within MDI (Managed Dealer Inventory), you are responsible for the development of department metrics, tools, reporting and in-depth analysis related to improvements projects. The MDI Inventory/Data Analyst makes sure that the other analysts have tools available to efficiently do their work and comes up with suggestions for improvement. Besides this, you are responsible of the inventory management for about 60 dealers spread out over Europe.

  • You support MDI management and analysts with data and analysis.
  • You build and improve tools and reports to support the other analysts in their work.
  • You have daily contact with the dealer’s parts managers to optimize their stock levels and support them with processing order suggestions.
  • You analyze and advise dealers and provide improvement proposals related to inventory management and parts availability.
  • You regularly visit dealers (about 10% of your time). During these visits you provide training to part managers, present to higher management to convince them about the logistic and commercial benefits of your proposals and suggestions. You also provide feedback regarding their performance on the MDI metrics.
  • You are the point of contact for dealers, DAF offices (in multiple countries) and the other departments of PACCAR Parts Europe to support on all MDI related topics in order to reach DAF’s and the dealer’s targets.
  • You perform improvement projects to increase the quality of the order suggestions and increase the efficiency of the department.

As MDI Inventory/Data Analyst, you report to the MDI Area Manager.

Your profile

  • Bachelor or Master’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations Management Data Science or similar
  • Minimum 2-3 years of professional experience as a Demand Planner, Data Analyst, Inventory Planner or a related field
  • Fluent in English
  • Fluent in French and/or German
  • Strong analytical skills and advanced knowledge in MS Excel and MS Access
  • Advanced knowledge in SQL, Python or Tableau is a plus
  • Accurate and a keen eye for details
  • Communicate and present easily in an international setting
  • Ability to sell your proposals by demonstrating their benefits to the dealers

Within PACCAR Parts, the Managed Dealer Inventory (MDI) department is responsible for optimizing parts availability and inventory at DAF dealers. Based on data analysis, parts order recommendations are developed for each dealer location and transmitted electronically to the dealer daily. MDI provides significant benefits to dealers with increased parts availability, improved inventory turns and most importantly, increased levels of customer service.
