Job Title: Data Engineer

Location: Sugarland, TX

Job Type: Full-time Onsite

We are seeking a talented and experienced Data Engineer to join our growing team. As a key member of our data team, you will play a crucial role in designing, building, and maintaining robust data architectures, systems, and efficient data processes.

Responsibilities:

Data Ingestion and Integration:

  • Integrate data from internal and external systems, APIs, and various sources to create a unified view of the organization's data.

Pipeline Development:

  • Design and develop robust, scalable, and efficient data pipelines to move and transform data, ensuring data quality and consistency.

Data Warehousing:

  • Implement and maintain data warehouses for storing and organizing large volumes of structured and unstructured data.

Data Modeling:

  • Design and implement models that facilitate data storage, retrieval, and analysis.

Data Security:

  • Ensure the security and privacy of data within the cloud environment.

Process Automation:

  • Develop scripts using orchestration tools to automate and schedule data workflows, ensuring reliability and repeatability.

Data Quality and Governance:

  • Implement data quality checks and governance processes to maintain the accuracy and consistency of data throughout its lifecycle.

Collaboration with Developers:

  • Collaborate with the data team to understand their data requirements, providing well-prepared and optimized datasets for analysis.

Performance Optimization:

  • Monitor and optimize the performance of data processing and storage systems.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in information technology or related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Data Engineer.

Skills and Competencies:

  • Proficient in data integration, ETL processes, and data warehousing.
  • Strong experience in designing and developing scalable data pipelines.
  • Expertise in data modeling for efficient storage and retrieval.
  • Knowledge of data security principles within cloud environments.
  • Hands-on experience with process automation using orchestration tools.
  • Familiarity with data quality checks and governance processes.
  • Excellent collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Proven experience in performance optimization of data processing and storage systems.
