Position Description

We're looking for our first Data Engineer/Data Analyst to join the Live it Up team! In this role, you will be responsible for working with stakeholders across multiple departments, helping them create, interpret and iterate on different data-powered solutions. You will be a partner who helps uplevel the decision-making throughout the company. We are looking for someone comfortable working across the entire data stack, but primarily on the analyzing and presenting layers. Our ideal candidate balances the deep technical needs for the role, while demonstrating a strong business acumen and ability to partner cross functionally.

Key Responsibilities

  • Works well on a team. Work alongside other software and data engineers on ensuring the right data is available for analysis at all times.
  • Be a great Individual Contributor. Design, build, and maintain scalable data analysis and presentation solutions atop the existing and new data stacks.
  • Cross-collaborate. Work with other departments (e.g. with growth, operations, leadership) to understand their KPIs on a business level, transform them into data requirements, and carry out the solution delivery.
  • Create and own an ICE framework. You will proactively source workload and priorities from other teams and create/suggest projects to help them thrive.
  • Focus on quality. Implement data quality checks, monitoring, reporting and governance processes to ensure data accuracy and reliability.
  • Focus on performance. Help optimize and tune data infrastructure for performance, scalability, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Automate data processing tasks and workflows using scripting languages (e.g., Python, SQL) and automation tools.
  • Become a thought leader. Contribute to the development and maintenance of dashboards, reports, and data visualizations to enable data-driven decision-making across the organization.
  • Grow with the company. When necessary, recruit additional data analysts and scientists, and provide them with clean specifications: structured + accessible data for analysis and modeling.
  • Grow the company sustainably. Ensure data security, privacy, and compliance with relevant regulations by implementing appropriate access controls and data protection measures.

Skills, Knowledge And Expertise

  • 3+ years of data-related experience.
  • Proficiency in working with Google Sheets and SQL.
  • Proficiency with at least one data visualization platform/tool (Tableau, Looker, Metabase, Sisense CDT, etc).
  • Experience with data visualization tools (Sisense CDT, Tableau, Looker).
  • Experience with SaaS analytics tools such as Google Analytics, FullStory, and general A/B testing.
  • Experience working in the eCommerce space and the processes that are part of it (marketing metrics, attribution models, and platforms).
  • Basic understanding of the standard DevOps practices (CI/CD, AWS).
  • Basic understanding of RDMS, warehousing databases and ETLs.
  • Basic experience with Python, R or similar languages.
  • Basic experience with software versioning tools (Git).
  • Highly organized, self-motivated, and proactive; with an ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
  • Experience mentoring or leading teams of junior data engineers/analysts/scientists is a bonus.

Location and Time Commitment

We are fully remote - you can work wherever you're most productive. This role is full-time and will need to overlap with US ET for the majority of the workday.
