Your team

The Business Platforms Crew, part of Group Corporate Services, is responsible for the product management, delivery execution and business facing reporting of Supplier Risk, Procurement, and Property Applications.

We work closely with the Group Corporate Services teams, Business Unit risk teams, Technology and IT Vendors to satisfy the needs of business units within CBA and subsidiary companies nationally and internationally.

We are seeking people who:

  • Develop highly reliable data pipelines and data platforms with comprehensive test coverage with limited supervision.
  • Contribute to the technical design for system enhancements.
  • Apply deployment mechanisms for CI/CD pipelines and Release Management on data platforms.
  • Provide technical assistance to other members of the team.
  • Participate actively in peer reviews.
  • Identify and drive opportunities for continuous improvement within the team and in delivery of products.
  • Produce high quality, sustainable solutions to meet business requirements, leveraging approved delivery frameworks and by applying industry best practice.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure that solutions are robust, secure and highly available.
  • Complete data engineering duties aligned to core concepts of data design, preparation, transformation, and load.
  • Build data pipelines in distributed data platforms including warehouses, databases, data lakes and cloud lakehouses to enable data predictions and models, and reporting and visualisation analysis via data integration tools and frameworks.

Technical Skills

We use a broad range of tools, languages, and frameworks. We don’t expect you to know them all but experience or exposure with some of these (or equivalents) will set you up for success in this team.

  • Experience in designing, building, and delivering enterprise-wide data ingestion, data integration and data pipeline solutions using common programming language (Python or similar)
  • Experience in building reporting solutions using one of the tools – Power BI, Tableau, Alteryx
  • Proficiency with DevOps tools and practices.
  • Kafka and various ETL frameworks for distributed data storage and processing.
  • Experience in working in Agile teams, including working closely with internal business stakeholders.
  • Experience with cloud data platforms either AWS, Azure or GCP.
