We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Data Engineer with expertise in Azure Synapse Analytics to join our data enterprise team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in designing, developing, and optimizing data pipelines, data warehousing solutions, and ETL processes. The Data Engineer will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure data is processed, transformed, and made available for analytics and reporting in an efficient and scalable manner.

Location: San Leandro preferred (Hybrid)

Primary Job Responsibilities:


  • Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines within Azure Synapse Analytics to ingest, process, and transform data from various sources.
  • Implement data integration and ETL processes to ensure data accuracy and consistency.
  • Create and maintain data models and data warehousing solutions within Azure Synapse Analytics, optimizing for performance and scalability.
  • Perform data cleansing, transformation, and enrichment to prepare data for downstream analytics and reporting.
  • Implement data processing solutions to support real-time and batch data needs.
  • Monitor and optimize the performance of data pipelines and data warehousing solutions to ensure efficient data processing.
  • Identify and address bottlenecks and performance issues.
  • Ensure compliance with data privacy regulations and industry standards.
  • Collaborate with data analysts and business stakeholders to understand data requirements and deliver data solutions.
  • Document data pipelines, data models, and ETL processes to facilitate knowledge sharing.


Qualifications/Education/Experience

Must have at least 3 years of experience in the following:


  • Data Warehousing Concepts: Understanding of data warehousing concepts such as star schema, snowflake schema, and slowly changing dimensions (SCDs) to design and optimize data structures within Azure Synapse Analytics.
  • Azure Synapse Analytics: This includes knowledge of Synapse SQL, Synapse Pipelines, and integration with other Azure services.
  • Power BI: Proficiency in building interactive and visually appealing dashboards, reports, and data visualizations using Power BI.
  • SQL : Proficiency in writing complex SQL queries and stored procedures for data manipulation, extraction, and transformation within SQL Server and Azure Synapse Analytics.
  • Data Modeling: Ability to design and implement efficient data models for analytics and reporting purposes within Azure Synapse Analytics, ensuring data integrity and performance.
  • Performance Tuning and Optimization: Skills in optimizing data processing and query performance within Azure Synapse Analytics and SQL Server by fine-tuning queries, indexing strategies, and data partitioning.
  • Version Control: Familiarity with version control systems like Git for managing code and scripts related to data engineering processes and solutions.
  • Bachelors degree preferred or equivalent work experience


Salary Range:

$87,600.00 - $146,200.00

This pay range represents the minimum and maximum compensation that the position offers, and final compensation can vary within the range depending on work location, job experience, skills, and relevant educational attainment and/or training.
