This Senior Data Analyst role is a critical position as the emphasis on data-driven decision-making and a collaborative work environment underpins the success of the implementation. We are seeking a dynamic Senior Data Analyst with a focus on Business Intelligence, SQL, Azure, Databricks, data integration, data migration, requirements gathering, data validation, translation, and documentation.


Responsibilities


  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, particularly finance and operations, to gather data reporting needs, analyze to ensure alignment with business objectives and translate them into clear comprehensive requirements.
  • Lead data migration initiatives, ensuring seamless transfer of financial data between systems while maintaining data accuracy and integrity.
  • Design, develop, and oversee end-to-end ETL pipelines for transforming and loading diverse financial data from multiple sources into our data warehouse.
  • Utilize Business Intelligence tools (Power BI) to create interactive dashboards, reports, and data visualizations that distill complex financial insights into actionable information.
  • Develop and optimize SQL queries to extract, manipulate, and aggregate data, supporting advanced analytics and reporting needs.
  • Employ Databricks for in-depth exploration and analysis of extensive datasets, uncovering patterns, anomalies, and opportunities for enhancing business performance.
  • Conduct rigorous data validation and quality assurance to ensure accuracy, completeness, and consistency of financial data used in tables, reports and overall data flow; initiate corrective measures when necessary to resolve any discrepancies or inconsistencies to ensure the data integration workflows and reports are reliable and trustworthy.
  • Translate intricate financial concepts into clear insights for non-technical stakeholders, facilitating informed decision-making across the organization.
  • Take ownership of documentation processes, creating clear and comprehensive technical documentation, including data dictionaries, process flows, and user guides.
  • Collaborate closely with IT teams to enforce data security protocols, compliance measures, and data governance practices throughout the data lifecycle.
  • Remain informed about industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in data analysis, Business Intelligence, and financial services.
Qualifications:


  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Finance, Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related discipline.
  • 5+ years of proven experience in Data Analytics with a focus on Azure and Databricks in financial services or a related sector.
  • Proficiency in SQL for advanced querying and data manipulation, including complex joins and stored procedures.
  • Experience working with SQL Server to validate data in Databricks
  • Extensive experience with Business Intelligence tools like Tableau, Power BI, or equivalent, showcasing a strong ability to craft interactive reports and dashboards.
  • Familiarity with data integration and ETL processes, including data extraction, transformation, and loading. Experience with tools like Apache Spark and Databricks is highly desired.
  • Profound understanding of financial concepts, metrics, and reporting standards.
  • Exceptional skills in data validation, data quality assurance, and problem-solving.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration aptitude, particularly in translating technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong project management skills, multitasking abilities, and a commitment to meeting deadlines in a fast-paced setting.
Preferred Qualifications:


  • Professional certifications in Data Analysis, Business Intelligence, or Finance (e.g., CFA, CBIP, Microsoft Certified: Data Analyst Associate) are advantageous.
  • Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., Azure, AWS, GCP) and modern data warehousing solutions.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python or R for data analysis and automation.
  • Knowledge of statistical analysis and predictive modeling techniques.
