The Role

At oOh!media we are committed to harnessing the power of our inventory, audience, and campaign data to drive campaign optimisations to deliver the best outcomes for our clients. We are seeking a talented Data Scientist with a strong background in mathematical optimisation/numerical modelling to join our technology team implementing campaign planning tools used by our sales teams and customers. If you are passionate about solving interesting business problems, leveraging data to create impactful solutions, and have a highly inquisitive mind, we want to hear from you.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement advanced numerical models to solve complex optimisation proc.
  • Utilize linear programming (LP) and mixed integer programming (MIP) techniques to enhance performance, efficiency, and profitability.
  • Analyse large datasets to extract meaningful insights and support data-driven decision-making.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and translate them into data-driven solutions.
  • Design and conduct experiments to validate models and optimization techniques.
  • Communicate findings and recommendations to stakeholders through clear and concise reports and visualizations.
  • Stay current with the latest advancements in data science, numerical modelling, linear programming, and mixed integer programming methodologies.

Experience / Qualifications Required

  • Master’s or PhD in Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in numerical modelling, linear programming, and mixed integer programming, preferably in an industrial or research setting.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, R, or MATLAB.
  • Experience with optimization libraries and frameworks (e.g., Gurobi, CPLEX, SciPy).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to convey complex concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with machine learning techniques and tools is a plus.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.

Preferred Experience

  • Experience with big data / data science and analytics technologies (e.g. Spark, Databricks).
  • A background in operations research - for example in supply chain, transportation, healthcare or investments.
  • Knowledge of database systems (SQL, NoSQL) and ideal if exposure in advertising campaigns.
