If you join the Business Intelligence & Analytics team, you become part of ASML’s largest department: Development & Engineering. Here you will get a front-row seat of our company’s key process: where the sharpest minds in hardware and software, design and develop some of the world’s most complex machines.

We do this by participating in large transformation programs that bring change throughout ASML, and by working directly with teams and colleagues in the organization to unlock new insights and develop effective data-driven solutions that solve specific problems and drive continuous improvement. We work closely with our partners in IT to ensure our algorithms, dashboards and applications are deployed in a sustainable manner and supported to secure availability.

With the demand for chips continuously growing, our customers challenge us to deliver more advanced lithography solutions at higher speeds and quality. We consider data a key enabler in facing this challenge and are excited about the impact we can make by leveraging our data, analytics and visualization skills. For example, by predicting the amount of parts to keep in stock, by developing an enterprise dashboard that delivers consistent performance insights on all levels of the organization, or by analyzing unstructured data for opportunities to improve cycle time of specific processes.

Role and Responsibilities

  • Talk with experts in our organization to understand the business problems they face. In addition brainstorm with your colleagues to see how data can be used to solve these problems
  • Perform exploratory data analysis to identify trends and patterns that can sharpen the challenge and use all tools available and determine the best solution, from descriptive to prescriptive insights
  • Get into the ‘dirt’ by cleaning and preparing data for processing, statistical analysis and modelling. Furthermore you will provide quick fact-based answers and insights to ad hoc questions during transformation prototyping
  • Transform data to insights by applying different techniques using your craftsmanship. Next to that you will also formulate hypotheses based on business process understanding and test using business process data
  • Challenge business assumptions using fact-based analyses and quick prototypes to convince stakeholders
  • Directly manage stakeholders of your analysis by involving them on developments in your work. Moreover, use business knowledge and prior experiences to challenge data analysis requests and approaches
  • Think outside boundaries of your job description in order to support the quality of your deliverable. And have fun with your colleagues, dare to disrupt, find the best solution and make it ‘stick’

Education and experience

Bachelor or Master degree

At least 4 years of practical experience

  • Fluent in Python and R or SQL
  • Knowledge of data cleaning, modelling and transformation
  • Fluent in English both verbally and written
  • Excellent in math, statistics and data visualization

This position requires access to controlled technology, as defined in the Export Administration Regulations (15 C.F.R.

  • 730, et seq.). Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to access such controlled technology prior to beginning work. Business demands may require ASML to proceed with candidates who are immediately eligible to access controlled technology.
