Your responsibilities
  • You will be responsible for the technical development of forest inventory design and implementation, including data and statistics analysis, and forest growth & yield modeling
  • You will develop forest growth curves and model nature-based projects focused on ARR and IFM activities
  • You will optimize or fully design forestry project activities, considering climate benefits (carbon), economics, carbon markets, and biodiversity
  • Automating the calculations of GHG emission reductions and removals will also be part of your tasks.
  • Furthermore, you will be responsible for drafting sections related to GHG calculations for the project document and the monitoring report
  • You will calculate and estimate emission reductions/removals from different AFOLU project types using recognized carbon accounting methodologies
  • The development and implementation of independent verification systems for nature-based projects will also be part of your responsibilities
  • Additionally, you will analyze carbon standards’ methodological requirements and calculation tools within the framework of forest project development


Your profile
  • You hold a Master’s or PhD degree in forestry engineering, environmental sciences, agronomy, bioinformatics, or any sustainability-related field
  • You have at least 4 years of experience in Sustainable Forest Management
  • You have a strong understanding of statistics and forest growth modeling
  • You are experienced with data science and familiar with programming languages such as R or Python
  • You have proven expertise in forest inventory design and MRV
  • You possess a good understanding and familiarity with GHG accounting, carbon modeling, and quantification with different carbon standards
  • You have excellent language and writing skills in English. Proficiency in Spanish is desirable, and knowledge of a third language (French or German) is considered a plus
