As a Data Engineer, you will:

  • Build production-ready, scalable Machine Learning Models & Systems.
  • Maintain and improve ML pipelines and experimentation infrastructure, focusing on scalability, stability, usability, and performance.
  • Ensure the quality of deliverables by designing and implementing unit- and integration tests.
  • Troubleshoot, analyze, and solve issues from tests and customer reports.
  • Suggest improvements to technical solutions and working methods, implementing them in alignment with your team.
  • Participate in team knowledge sharing, design reviews, and technical reviews.
  • Play a pivotal role in mentoring colleagues and sharing insights and best practices for operationalizing ML/AI models and solutions.

What You Bring to the Table:

  • Approximately 5 years of experience in Python software development.
  • Extensive experience in the Azure (and/or Databricks or similar) Data Stack.
  • Proven expertise in integrating CI/CD practices.
  • Experience with MLOps frameworks.
  • Deep understanding of design and cloud patterns.
  • Experience with data ingestion, data storage, data processing, and data security principles at scale.
  • Demonstrable engineering experience in a largely Open Source environment, including technologies such as Kafka, Hadoop ecosystems (HDFS, Hive, Impala), Git, Jenkins, Docker, MLflow, and Kubernetes.
  • Solid communication and cooperation skills in Dutch and English, with fluency in German being a plus.
  • Willingness to undergo an in-depth background screening.
  • Possession of Azure or similar Associate Cloud Data Engineer Certification is a plus.

You should possess the ability to:

  • Design and implement scalable and efficient machine learning models and systems.
  • Develop and maintain robust ML pipelines with a focus on scalability, reliability, and performance.
  • Implement and execute unit and integration tests to ensure the quality and stability of deliverables.
  • Analyze and troubleshoot issues efficiently, both proactively and reactively.
  • Collaborate effectively with team members to suggest and implement improvements to technical solutions and workflows.
  • Mentor colleagues and share expertise to foster the growth and development of the team.
  • Communicate technical concepts effectively in both Dutch and English, with the ability to convey complex ideas to diverse stakeholders.
  • Adapt to evolving technologies and methodologies in the data engineering and machine learning landscape.
