The Role

The Group Head of Identity & Privileged Access Management is a critical role within Identity & Privileged Access Management & Information Security, responsible for overseeing the development, implementation, and management of Apex’s Identity & Privileged Access Management (IAM & PAM) programme, including all user (including privileged) access lifecycle management, account administration and external party access. The role reports to the Global Chief Information Security Officer (GCISO).

Key Duties And Responsibilities

Identity & Privileged Access Management

  • Responsible for designing and implementing Apex’s Identity & Privileged Access Management Programme.
  • Govern and support the delivery and execution of both global IAM and PAM Technology Solutions.
  • Ensure adherence to all requirements in Apex’s Identity & Privileged Access Management Standard.
  • Train and develop a team of managers to support all IAM and PAM activities across Apex.
  • Develop comprehensive role-based access control (RBAC) for the entirety of the global business.
  • Deliver a defined design architecture for all access lifecycle management supported by using technology solutions.
  • Oversee the necessary reviews and audits on logical access entitlements to ensure compliance with the Identity & Privileged Access Management Standard and Segregation of Duties is enforced globally.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including Technology leaders, business managers, and auditors, to ensure alignment and compliance with policies and standards.
  • Work closely with other security functions and leadership to identify and remediate weaknesses in access management.
  • Provide training and guidance to end-users on best practices for managing access and adhering to security protocols.
  • Stay up to date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and security threats to proactively recommend enhancements to access management processes.


Experience And Knowledge

  • Experience operating in Technology teams in a large multi-national organization with focus on identity and access management and privileged access management.
  • Proven experience in Identity & Privileged Access Management (IAM & PAM), or related Technology/Security roles.
  • Strong understanding of security principles, authentication protocols, and all access control mechanisms.
  • Familiarity with the SailPoint & CyberArk platforms is desirable.
  • Experience working in complex, fast-paced business environments, including ability to coordinate multiple tasks in various locations and time zones.
  • Programme management experience leading local and global implementations.
  • Experience working on projects in the financial services industry would be an advantage.
