Data scientist - Energy Sector

As a Data Scientist, you will play a pivotal role in developing predictive models and analytical solutions that drive decision-making and strategic initiatives in the energy sector. You'll have the opportunity to work on cutting-edge projects, analyzing complex datasets to optimize operations, mitigate risks, and uncover new opportunities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and implement advanced data models and algorithms
• Analyze large, complex datasets to identify patterns, trends, and insights relevant to the energy sector.
• Develop predictive models to assess and manage credit risk, improving financial decision-making.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including finance and operations, to apply data science solutions to business challenges.
• Communicate technical findings and recommendations to non-technical stakeholders.
• Stay up-to-date with industry trends, technologies, and regulations affecting the energy sector and credit risk management.

Technical Skills:

• Proficiency in Python
• Experience with AWS cloud services for data processing and analytics.
• Strong command of SAS for statistical analysis and data management.
• Knowledge of SAP for enterprise resource planning and data integration.
• Expertise in PySpark for handling large-scale data processing.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related quantitative field.
• Proven experience as a Data Scientist, with strong proficiency in the technical skills listed above.
• A solid quantitative background with expertise in statistical modeling, machine learning, and data mining.
• Experience in credit risk analysis is highly desirable.
• Previous experience or familiarity with the energy sector is a significant plus.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently on complex projects.
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to translate complex data insights into actionable business recommendations.
• Fluency in French AND/OR Dutch and English
