We now focus on building the world’s most modern and efficient Gigafactory in Dunkirk (France). With this facility, our ambition is an initial annual production of 16 Gwh of lithium-ion batteries by 2025, thus powering 300,000 electric vehicles annually.

Role Overview :

• As a Data Scientist / Engineer intern at Verkor, you'll play a crucial role in our effort to predict battery manufacturing outcomes using AI. You'll have access to real manufacturing data and work closely with our Process Innovation team. Your mission is to leverage machine learning to predict battery performance, identify anomalies, and optimize processes. Your responsibilities include:
• Contributing to the design and implementation of a Battery Performance Predictive System
• Keeping up with the latest multi-modal prediction and data forecasting techniques
• Exploring emerging tools and methods in machine learning system design
• Support our team efforts in end-to-end data science projects and day-to-day AI investigations in real industry conditions
  
  
  

Hard & Soft Skills expected :

• - Currently pursuing a BAC+4/+5 degree in Engineering or a Master's in a strong Scientific Domain (Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, Statistics, etc.)
• - Proficiency in Python and/or R programming
• - Familiarity with traditional data science/machine learning frameworks (Numpy, Pandas, scikit-learn, Tidyverse) and experience in model training
• - Professional proficiency in French and/or English
• - A free spirit with a supportive and motivated attitude
  
  
  

Internship Schedule

• Throughout your journey, you'll be accompanied and supported by our Senior AI supervisor. The schedule is as follows:
• Month 1: Integration into the company and orientation to your investigation topic
• Month 2: Review of the state-of-the-art and delineation of the scientific and engineering scope of your project
• Months 3 and 4: Prototyping of your solution
• Months 5 and 6: Iterative improvement loop and report writing
  
  
  

Bonus Skills:

• - For Engineers: Prior experience or a strong motivation to learn data engineering practices related to data storage, model testing, serving, and deployment
• - For Scientists: Prior experience or a strong motivation to learn AI frameworks (pyTorch, Lightning) and apply both traditional ML and neural networks approaches
