Our agile centralized development teams powered by our on-site senior leadership allow us to work with you as a stand-alone group be it integrating into your in-house dev teams or providing external architectural guidance.
Phase I of this project is to POC three different semantic layer alternatives to their existing Azure Analysis Services Tabular models. These will be AtScale, Cube.dev, and Microsoft Fabric. After they have selected with semantic layer will reside in front of their new Databricks warehouse, a pre-defined selection of Dimensions, Facts and Metrics will be implemented in the new semantic layer. Finally, existing PowerBI front-ends will be pointed to the new semantic layer. This will not require reworking the front end, but will require adjusting the data model and how it is loaded to adjust to the model of the new semantic layer. This will require knowing how to read, understand and translate documented DAX code into the new semantic layer in either DAX, MDX or SQL.

Role & Responsibilities:
- Understand DAX and translate existing calculations into the technology of the new semantic layer
- Create dimensions, hierarchies and metrics in conformity to a star schema
- Convert the dataset population in PowerBI from AAS to the new technology of the semantic layer platform
