About The Position

As a Data Scientist within the Pricing Analytics team at HP, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of how we set prices. Join our dynamic, highly skilled, and diverse global team, composed of economists, statisticians, computer scientists, natural scientists, and engineers, all committed to pushing the innovation frontier in pricing strategies for HP products. Your role will involve combining modelling skills, economic and business thinking, experimentation, and optimization methods to build intricate pricing algorithms for the most popular Printers and PCs in the market.

What You Will Be Doing

  • Develop and implement predictive models and algorithms to support pricing strategies;
  • Collaborate with the business and product teams to understand market dynamics, competitive landscapes, and customer behaviors;
  • Design and execute experiments to test hypotheses and validate pricing models;
  • Build and maintain statistical models for forecasting and scenario analysis.
  • Present findings and insights to both technical and non-technical stakeholders in a clear and compelling manner;
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to integrate data-driven insights into strategic decision-making processes;
  • Stay current with industry trends and advancements in data science, continually applying new knowledge to enhance pricing analytics methodologies.

What We Are Looking For (must-haves)

  • At least 2 years of experience in data science;
  • Master's degree or above in Computer Science, Economics, Engineering, or related disciplines;
  • Proficiency in Python, R, and Spark;
  • Strong coding and software development skills;
  • Interest in pricing, economics, and consumer behavior;
  • Experience in designing, deploying, and analyzing in-market experiments and/or AB tests;
  • Ability to think creatively and invent original solutions to business and modelling challenges.

Nice To Have

  • Experience in deploying ML and data science solutions.
  • Knowledge of price optimization approaches, B2B pricing, and a general understanding of main concepts from industrial organization literature.
  • Basic understanding of finance and product economics.
