Why choose for Eneco?

We want to accelerate the energy transition. With our ambitious ‘One Planet plan’, we have made it clear that by 2035, we aim to be the first energy company to become CO2-neutral. No more reliance on natural gas! The entire Netherlands is making the switch. Towards smarter, cleaner, and more sustainable energy. Everyone has their own reasons for doing so. Some want to contribute to a better climate, others switch because their neighbors are doing it, or because they find joy in saving energy, and we're doing it now!

At Eneco, we want to help everyone to take the next sustainable step. And we are looking for the best people who can make that possible. People who are enthusiastic about our mission of 'sustainable energy for everyone' and who want to further develop their talents at Eneco. We want everyone to be able to participate effortlessly in the energy transition. This can only happen if we better assist our customers, remove barriers for them to become more sustainable by listening and understanding their true needs.

Digital innovations help with every step of this journey. Our Digital department therefore works to accelerate the development of such innovations. And data is crucial for that. By joining our data team you'll directly contribute to Eneco's digital innovations that help us work towards a more sustainable future.

What You’ll Do

We're seeking a talented Senior Data Analyst to join the newly formed Data Analytics team within our Digital department. You will be working closely with a cross-functional product team on several initiatives that will help Eneco become climate neutral by 2035.

Most of the initiatives you will be working on will focus on decarbonizing our customers, generating more sustainable energy and balancing and optimizing the energy system. To do so, you'll be working with a wide range of data, including customer data, digital touchpoints data, smart meters, wind turbines, solar panels, power plants, and IoT devices.

Is this about you?

You like to help the product team make the right decisions using data driven insights. Whether that's a simple visualization, analysis, report, dashboard or predictive model. You like to deep dive into an analysis but are also up for a strategic conversation with your business stakeholders about high level objectives and KPIs.

While you are a team player you can also work independently. You have a pro-active mindset and are curious to learn more, both about the industry and the field of analytics. Additionally, you have:

  • A bachelor's degree or higher with a strong quantitative focus
  • 7+ years of work experience as Data Analyst, Data Scientist, Analytics Engineer or any other similar role
  • Experience in SQL and Python, preferably in a cloud environment such as Databricks and Snowflake
  • Experience in A/B testing, from designing an experiment based on business understanding to analyzing the results and making business recommendations.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills

You’ll be responsible for

  • Steering your product team in building the right data products through data driven decision making.
  • Guiding your stakeholders in problem definition, prioritization and success measurement, such as OKRs and KPIs
  • Designing, conducting and evaluating A/B tests to help the business make data driven decisions and encouraging the use of experimentation throughout the organization
  • Hands-on data work, such as building pipelines to transform raw data into business logic, exploratory data analysis, creating reports and dashboards, and building statistical models
  • Communicating findings in an easy-to-understand way using storytelling and data visualization to help business stakeholders make better decisions
  • Coach and mentor (junior) Data Analysts in their day-to-day work

This is where you’ll work

You will be a part of the Data team in our Digital department. The Data team consists of multiple analytics, data science, data engineering and machine learning engineering squads. You will be part of an Analytics squad and you will report to your squad lead. Your squad and the rest of the data team are there to help you thrive and grow in your work as Data Analyst. We inspire each other by sharing our work and the latest developments in the field of data, for example in our weekly Data and Technology Lunches.

You will be a part of the product team and therefore your day-to-day activities will be mostly with your product team. In most cases you'll have some colleagues from the other data squads in your team, so you'll work closely together with them.
