Purpose Of The Role
We are on a mission to use data to drive our business strategy. To enable this, we are building a new data team to build the capability across all our business units.
The purpose of this role will be to optimise the Power BI reporting platform and to design and develop rich, innovative, and insightful data models to drive reporting and dashboards in Power BI. The successful applicant will also play a pivotal role in establishing and maintaining the self-service analytical capability within the organisation.

Purpose Of The Role

The successful applicant will also play a pivotal role in establishing and maintaining the self-service analytical capability within the organisation.
Main Responsibilities
- Data Modeling & Visualization:
- Design and develop enterprise-wide Power BI datasets and semantic models to ensure efficient reporting and insightful visualizations.
- Utilize advanced data visualization skills to translate complex data into clear and actionable insights.
- Power BI & Data Strategy:
- Own the Power BI/MS Fabric architecture design, ensuring its effectiveness and scalability.
- Contribute significantly to developing and implementing a comprehensive data strategy and data governance framework.
- Administration & User Support:
- Administer Power BI/MS Fabric, maintaining optimal performance and security.
- Play a key role in developing and supporting the Power BI user community, fostering a data-driven culture.
- To actively promote health & safety standards, engage in implementing health and safety protocols, and contribute to a risk-free work environment for all, playing a crucial role in mitigating workplace risks and promoting the well-being of all team members.

Key Skills & Knowledge
- Minimum 5 years, experience in designing, developing, and managing enterprise data warehouses or other complex relational databases.
- Strong command of the Microsoft stack, Power BI (Premium), MS Fabric
- Excellent understanding of Tabular model design and development including complex DAX
- Requirements gathering
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Power data model optimisation and administration
- Working with large ERP systems would be beneficial.
- Experience with software development practices including source control, unit testing and agile methodologies, CI/CD.
- PowerShell, Python, or similar programming language
- Business Analysis, UX Design, Data management
- Degree in computer science or related
- Microsoft Certification: Fabric Analytics Engineer Associate or similar certifications.
- Experience of database technologies (SQL Server, SQL Azure)
