Mercer Global Investments Technology seek a highly skilled Investments Technology Data Analyst to join our team in our Dublin office.

As an Investments Technology Data Analyst, you will work on a high-profile project, extracting data from various systems to analyse that data across various regional existing Mercer systems.

We will look for your technical skills, ideally in writing/programming SQL queries against various database platform such as Snowflake/Databricks and other relational databases.

We particularly welcome applications from those from a software development background who may have moved their career to be more business facing and focused on analysis.

You may have also worked with data team on requirements and translating these requirements, with more technical detail to the teams building a data lake.

What You Need To Have

  • Experience in the data domains common in investment management firms (e.g. funds, portfolios, holdings, trades, securities/investments, investment book of records (IBOR), accounting book of records (ABOR), performance, etc.
  • Proficiency in SQL and experience with relational databases.
  • Experience with cloud-based Data Warehouse/lake platforms, such as AWS data technologies, Databricks, and Snowflake.
  • Familiarity with metadata management and data governance tools such as Informatica Axon/EDC.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyse complex data sets and derive meaningful insights.

What Makes You Stand Out

  • Knowledge of the OCIO business.
  • The ability to effectively communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Broad experience with portfolio and order management systems (e.g. Factset, CRD/State Street Alpha), Investment Data Warehouse solutions (e.g. Eagle), modern cloud-based Data Warehouses/lakes technology, BI tools, investor client reporting systems and client facing systems.
  • Knowledge of BI tools (e.g. Qlik) and designing data solutions for ease of use by BI platforms to enable data self-service.
  • Experience in projects that involved the use AI.
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.

We Will Rely On You To

  • Lead analysis related to investment technology solutions and software development initiatives within the investment management domain.
  • Write the business specifications detailing operations of an application or specific function.
  • Consult with development team to ensure requirements are clear and to resolve outstanding questions or issues.
  • Lead user group meetings and work with stakeholders to assist in prioritizing the backlog.
  • Assist in the development of product roadmaps.
  • Work closely in region with business stakeholders to understand how local requirements can map into our broader global solution.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
  • Work with peers globally in the transformation program to align on designing global solutions and minimize regional differences to only the case where they are truly required.
  • Collaborate with investment teams, vendors, and technology stakeholders to understand end user and integration requirements and develop solutions that meet business needs in an optimal way.
  • Prepare training materials and answers user’s questions.
  • Design solutions that bring together the solutions our vendor partners provide and what our business requires that may require internal development.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  • Support implementation and testing teams as required to ensure execution success.
  • Assist support teams as required.
  • Evaluate vendor platforms to see if solutions exist that can be purchased vs. built and make recommendations.
  • Assist in the estimation of features, products, projects and in resource budgeting.
