Business Data Analyst

Job description

Job Purpose

The Business Data Analyst is responsible for supporting the day to day activities for the Sector team within GMDS. Playing a critical part in ensuring the integrity of data, processing it in an effective and efficient manner; adhering to governance standards, being an advocate for quality and consistency of our data assets, supporting a culture of continuous improvement and value add to the sector.

The role is also key in sharing, educating and training peers as well as stakeholders to sustaining a standard approach to creation, acquisition, validating, protecting, processing and storage to ensure the accessibility, reliability and timeliness of data for our wider business users enabling effective data driven decision making.

Responsibilities

  • To register and process accurately the relevant data required by the ERP Systems within the agreed timeframe to support key business processes
  • To perform data quality and integrity checks as required
  • To analyse data to identify trends or issues
  • Record data issues and proactively remediate within agreed Service Level Agreement
  • Develop and validate operating procedures to ensure compliance with Governance Standards
  • To be a Super-User for data systems, supporting other users
  • To attend and facilitate meetings where required
  • To carry out any other duties which are within the employee’s skills and abilities whenever reasonably instructed
  • Respond to and problem solve transactional errors relating to master data
  • Perform assessments of data requests, identifying duplication and distribution to other teams
  • Managing stakeholder expectations communication
  • Conversion of bills of material to SAP manufacturing bills of material
  • Work collaboratively within the wider Data team and organisation


Scope

  • Work with peers and business stakeholders to ensure adherence and compliance with Master Data processes.
  • Work with peers and business stakeholders to ensure good data quality integrity within the ERP systems.


Special factors

  • Limited global travel may be required.
