About the team:

Vivian Health is a remote first, 100+ person company that is at the forefront of transforming the healthcare staffing landscape. The Data Team plays a critical role in providing insights that drive business strategy and empower data-driven decision making across the organization. We also build the pipelines and services that deliver clean, reliable data into the core product, enabling features like intelligent job matching, salary insights, client analytics, and more. Our team is a centralized group of talented data professionals, with experience across BI and analytics, engineering, data science, and machine learning.

About the Role

As a Sr. Data Analyst, your primary focus will be supporting stakeholders in the Finance and Operations teams by surfacing key insights to guide strategic decisions. Through dashboards, custom reports, and deep-dive analyses, you'll illuminate critical trends and uncover opportunities to enhance business performance. Additionally, you'll play a vital role in enabling data-driven decision making across the entire organization by managing and optimizing our BI platform, Looker.

What You’ll Do:

  • Partner with the Finance and Operations teams to design, develop and maintain the key dashboards, reports, and data models they need to manage the business.
  • Define and develop the metrics we use to measure our business. Have strong opinions on the right way to measure performance and use them to guide the engineering team in building the right telemetry.
  • Conduct ad-hoc analyses that extend far beyond surface-level insights to uncover deeper trends and opportunities, and concisely communicate those results to non-technical audiences.
  • Take the lead in managing and optimizing Looker, identifying opportunities to enhance reporting capabilities, simplify the data model, and ultimately drive increased user adoption.
  • Take ownership of the entire data modeling lifecycle–from design and requirements gathering, to development in dbt and Looker, deployment, and ongoing maintenance–collaborating closely with data and analytics engineers to iteratively improve and extend our data models.

We’d love to hear from you if you have:

  • 3+ years of experience in a data analytics-focused role
  • Strong SQL skills and experience wrangling data with a cloud data warehouse like Snowflake
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate complex topics to non-technical audiences
  • Keen business intuition and a tenacious curiosity that compels you to meticulously analyze complex business problems and their multi-layered impacts on the business
  • Experience developing strong stakeholder relationships and managing cross-functional projects
  • Experience using a BI tool like Looker, Tableau, PowerBI, etc. and strong data visualization skills
