The Data Scientist will impact business results utilizing big data and by deploying analytical solutions across the business which include ML/AI algorithms, customer modeling and pricing models and presenting timely, insightful, and actionable presentations to influence Marketing strategy, key business initiatives, and other ongoing Product or Promotional strategy. This role reports to the Manager of Analytics and requires an excellent collaborator, communicator, and project manager with extensive hands-on data experience. The candidate needs to be a flexible and independent problem solver in a fast-moving and highly diverse environment, with the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously. The role focuses on data mining, modeling and analyzing the data through a variety of statistical techniques to derive business insights, and then providing recommendations to Senior Management to influence critical business decisions.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Develop and deploy analytical solutions across a variety of functions, including, but not limited to: customer acquisition, customer retention, product development, ROAS, etc.
  • Build and test audience targeting strategies and models, including relevancy, re-targeting, look-a-like models, etc.
  • Identify relevant data sources and pipelines, and collect large structured and unstructured datasets and variables that can be leveraged for reporting and measurement
  • Devise and utilize algorithms and models to mine big data stores, perform data and error analysis, and clean and validate data for uniformity and accuracy
  • Research and analyze data to find deep relations within data to be used in the ML/AI algorithms
  • Design and implement ML/AI algorithms & works with engineers to apply algorithms to production
  • Analyze data and translate results into tailored reports and findings for vendors and business partners
  • Work across multi-disciplinary teams to translate business needs into testable hypotheses and then design experiments to test said hypotheses
  • Collaborate with business partners to develop customized KPIs and visualizations
  • Keep current with technical and industry developments

What’s Needed- Basic Qualifications

  • BA/BS in Statistics, Applied Math, Computer Science, or another related field Experience with large and complex data sets, relational databases, and data tools
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Data Scientist
  • Significant relevant experience building and deploying advanced analytics solutions in B2C or B2B environment. Relevant topics include: customer acquisition, customer segmentation and targeting, customer LTV maximization, churn prevention, ROAS, etc.
  • Data wrangling and modeling (SQL, R, Python, PySpark), different regression and classification modeling techniques such as XGBoost and LightGBM, Data visualization (Tableau, PowerBI)
  • Experience with cloud infrastructure (Azure, Databricks) preferred
  • Experience building in-production models, including associated scripting, error handling and documentation
  • Experience with pipelining tools (Airflow) preferred

What’s Needed- Preferred Qualifications

  • Masters in Statistics, Applied Math, Computer Science, or another related field Experience with large and complex data sets, relational databases, and data tools
  • Knowledge of contemporary ML models/packages
  • Significant relevant experience building and deploying advanced analytics solutions in B2C or B2B environment. Relevant topics include: customer acquisition, customer segmentation and targeting, customer LTV maximization, churn prevention, ROAS, etc.
  • Data wrangling and modeling (SQL, R, Python, PySpark), different regression and classification modeling techniques such as XGBoost and LightGBM, Data visualization (Tableau, PowerBI)
  • Experience building in-production models, including associated scripting, error handling and documentation
  • Exposure to programming language such as Python/R desirable, proficiency is preferred
