We are actively seeking experienced Data Engineers with a strong background in Cloudera CDP to enhance our Management Consulting team based in Dublin. Ideal candidates will have 7+ years of working experience, boasting a rich technical knowledge base and outstanding communication skills, with ambitions to lead in their domain.

A Snapshot Of Your Peer Group

• At least 7+ years of overall extensive professional experience in Analytical Environments.
• At least 5 years’ experience working with Data Engineering.
• At least 1 years’ experience working in DevOPS /Agile environment.
• A qualification at minimum level 8 in the National Framework of Qualifications (Honours Bachelor Degree or Higher Diploma level), in a related discipline, such as, Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science, Software Engineering, Big Data Analytics, Computer and Communications Engineering.
  
  
  

Key Technical Skills

• Data Engineering: Deep understanding of data transformation processes, data structures, metadata, dependency, and workload management
• Big Data platforms: Strong experience with Hadoop Ecosystem (Cloudera CDP preferred)
• Orchestration: Experience creating workflow schedules and data pipelines using tools like Oozie, NiFi, Airflow, or Luigi.
• Programming and Scripting Proficiency: Advanced knowledge in languages such as Python, Scala, and Java for the core development of data processes. Experience with Groovy and Bash for scripting and automation tasks, facilitating efficient pipeline operations.
• Data Management and Query Languages: Skilled in SQL for relational database interactions, with a strong understanding of HIVE and HBASE for managing big data within distributed environments.
• Data Ingestion and Transformation Tools: Proficient in utilizing tools like KAFKA for real-time data streaming and SOLR for search and analytics, essential for building, deploying, and automating robust data ingestion and transformation pipelines.
• Message Queuing and Stream Processing: Adept in using technologies for message queuing and stream processing, ensuring efficient data flow and real-time processing capabilities.
• Scalable Data Stores Expertise: Familiarity with highly scalable data stores, including Elastic or Solr for scalable search, Kafka for high-throughput event streaming, and Hive and Hbase for distributed data storage and processing, supporting large-scale data applications.
• Database Technologies Expertise: Skilled in open-source relational database management systems (RDBMS) such as PostgreSQL, SQL Server, and MySQL. And with NoSQL databases like Apache HBase, Apache Cassandra, DynamoDB, or MongoDB.

• Cloudera Certified professional
• Strong, soft skills and previous experience working alongside ICT and Data & Architecture stakeholders.
• Experience in root cause analysis on data and processes for improvement identification.
• Awareness of industry trends and emerging technologies in data management and processing.
• Strong leadership skills, initiative, and the ability to drive the adoption of real-time data processing and best practices.
• Dimensional modelling techniques such as Star & Snowflake schema database design
