In this role, you'll:

be working as a Data Analyst working withing the dedicated Data, Advice, Research and Testing Team (DART) in Transport Safety. This role works closely with internal and external stakeholders and undertakes research and analysis on various business problems and processes to assist with determining the optimal solution to meet requirements that lead to a direct contribution to road and maritime safety in NSW.

This role will see you leverage opportunities to make a real impact on business outcomes directly concerning road safety using your comprehension skills, analysis and strong language and writing skills.

Reporting to and supporting the Data Integration Manager this role comprehends and interprets complex and critically sensitive datasets derived from information received from other government agencies and across the broader business to inform road safety decisions.

You will use your forensic attention to detail to revise, investigate and advise on process improvements to data capture, data quality and reporting functions to further support our programs and educate and empower business users and stakeholders.

About You

Your understanding of data management concepts and issues and experience using business intelligence and visualisation tools to generate business information will see you excel in this role.

You are someone who sees the ‘bigger picture’ and will enjoy leveraging your data administration skills in database knowledge, SQL etc to support stakeholders with data concepts and issues.

You are known as someone who is self-driven and thrives by operating within a team, you also possess excellent communication skills.

Please note that the datasets are highly sensitive, and the successful candidate would need to be comfortable with the subject matter.

This team is currently working in a hybrid way and meets face to face on Wednesdays in the Macquarie Park offices.
