Job description

We are looking for an Associate Content Ingestion Analyst to join our team in our Cambridge office.


The Associate Content Ingestion Analyst draws on their technical and data analysis skills to provide support to the rest of the Content department, to aid the Senior and Principal Content Ingestion Analysts on content migration and process improvement projects, and to size and run smaller projects with supervision.



About You – experience, education, skills, and accomplishments

  • Educated to degree level, or equivalent level of experience.
  • 1 year of relevant experience
  • Experience with and interest in any of the following technologies: regular expressions, SQL, basic Java, Perl, Python, XSLT, Version Control Systems (Git)
  • Ability to review XML, XHTML, JSON, and other markup, keeping in mind how researchers use content structure and key metadata, and with a basic understanding of the mechanics behind website functionality.



It would be great if you also had . . .

  • Degree level in Library and Information Science or Computer Science would be valuable.
  • Experience working in a Scrum/Agile development environment.
  • Experience working in a Lean Six Sigma environment.
  • Experience using Informatica Data Exchange, PowerCenter, and data transformation products to process content.



What will you be doing in this role?

  • Undertake project work for new content and process improvement initiatives in an Agile environment.
  • Analyse content/data against current system capabilities and product requirements.
  • Provide feedback and report on the results of content analysis and contribute ideas for content or system changes needed to support product requirements.
  • Consistently communicate status reports throughout all phases of project/product work.
  • Use key technologies (regular expressions, Python, XSLT) to develop processes/applications that gather, analyse, or transform content to system and product requirements.
  • Assist with the support and maintenance of multiple transformation pipelines, and for the quality and timeliness of pipeline output.
  • Contribute to the creation and maintenance of business and process requirements documentation within core departmental responsibilities.
  • Provide support to Content Editors and Project Coordinators on technical matters.

Hours of Work

This is a permanent full-time position at 35 hours a week. The position is hybrid going to our office in Cambridge 2-3 times per week.
