Senior Data Engineer

PEMCO Mutual Insurance Company seeks a Senior Data Engineer for its Seattle, WA office (telecommuting permitted).

Job Duties:

• Utilize advanced SSIS (Single Server Integration Services) to extract data for contracts/policies from different formats, including Excel, CSV, JSON, XML, and SQL Server, and troubleshoot issues with SSIS packages and fix any data issues.
• Develop rating analytics cubes using SSAS (Server Analysis Services) to analyze historical contracts/ policies/transactions data to drive insights, define new KPIs (key performance indicators) and metrics, and develop dashboards using PowerBI/Tableau dashboards.
• Create advanced SSIS and T-SQL Extract, Transform Load (ETL) Processes/Data Pipelines to extract data for contracts/policies from different formats, including Excel, CSV, JSON, XML, and SQL Server.
• Develop end to end solutions for rating/pricing engines including data acquisition, data modeling, ETL, analytics and visualizations.
• Position may include additional duties that use the required skills.

Job Requirements: Master’s degree in Data Analytics, Statistics or Mathematics or foreign equivalent and two years of experience in any data engineering or data analytics-related occupation, including:

• Two years of experience working in data analytics, including one year of experience in the insurance industry, home and auto product lines.
• Two years of experience using advanced SSIS and T-SQL to develop pricing/rating engines to predict price and rate change analysis.
• Two years of experience developing analytics cubes using SSAS to analyze historical contracts/policies/ transactions to drive valuable insights, define KPIs (key performance indicators), metrics, and develop dashboards using PowerBI & Tableau.
• Two years of experience designing and building ETLs/Data Pipelines to extract data for contracts/policies from Excel, CSV, JSON, XML and SQL Server.
• Two years of experience developing end-to-end solutions for rating/pricing engines including building fast and repeatable ETL processes to acquire the data, designing data models using VISIO to identify input variables and factors, and creating analytics reports and dashboards for data visualization.
• Available to telecommute from undetermined location(s).

Experience may be gained concurrently. Foreign equivalent degrees are acceptable.
