Data Analyst (NL/ENG)

What does this job entail?

In recent years KBC has taken major steps to become a data-driven organisation. For example, we have built a big data platform that brings together various layers of high-quality data. You will join the team that manages and maintains this platform.

As Data Engineer you will work on the further development of new data layers on our big data platform. You will contribute to correct and consistent GDPR-compliant data which is available for users at the right time and via the right channel.

Why are we doing this? To ensure that business stakeholders can work with commercial data insights to respond even better to changing customer expectations.

What do we expect from you?

You will discuss the business needs with your internal customers. You will translate these to appropriate business requirements and acceptance criteria which ensure that all these needs are met. So, you form the bridge between business stakeholders and your ICT colleagues, with whom you work together closely during development and testing.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Being the contact person for everything related to the contents of the data aggregation layer.
• Deciding on the positioning of new data feeds for the big data platform base layer. Writing the policy guidelines and strategy for new and existing data flows.
• Contributing to the roadmap for new developments on the data aggregation layer.
• Drawing up an impact analysis and ensuring there's a solution for issues arising with data quality on the data aggregation layer. Doing the same for changes to the source data.
• Making clear agreements with stakeholders and data providers regarding data availability.
• Ensuring we have appropriate metadata which helps to keep the data lake GDPR compliant.
• Supporting preparations for migrating the aggregation layer to the cloud.
