The PepsiCo eCommerce Division works closely with cross-functional teams, including sales, marketing, supply chain, IT, and analytics, to develop and implement innovative e-commerce initiatives across various platforms. The division collaborates with key retail partners, e-commerce marketplaces, and technology providers to optimize the company's online presence and maximize sales and profitability.

By leveraging its strong portfolio of well-known brands, consumer insights, and digital capabilities, the PepsiCo eCommerce Division aims to strengthen its market presence, capture new growth opportunities, and meet the evolving needs of today's digital-savvy consumers.

The Data, Technology & Experience Team has an opening for a Senior Product Specialist. This person will collaborate with team members from Finance, Engineering, IT, Product, and PepsiCo Business Units to gather / review business requirements, understand goals and objectives for development projects; document data requirements, business rules, and data governance procedures; provide support for customers of our data platform – data scientists, analysts, business owners, and finance team; investigate and resolve data issues and devise strategies for continual improvement of our data quality.

Responsibilities

  • Data Management: Oversee data integrity, quality, and accuracy by monitoring, analyzing, and resolving data issues across various systems and databases.
  • Data Validation and Cleansing: Perform regular audits and validation checks to identify and rectify inconsistencies, duplications, and errors within datasets.
  • Process Optimization: Continuously evaluate and improve data processes, workflows, and procedures to enhance efficiency, reduce redundancy, and increase overall productivity. Identify opportunities for automation.
  • Data Governance: Develop and enforce data governance policies, standards, and best practices to ensure compliance and maintain data security and privacy.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Create and maintain comprehensive documentation of data operations, including data dictionaries, standard operating procedures, and reports on data quality metrics and trends.
  • Data Analysis: Utilize statistical methods and data analysis techniques to identify patterns, trends, and anomalies in datasets, providing insights to support business decisions and initiatives.
  • Collaborative Teamwork: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including data engineers, data scientists, and business stakeholders, to understand data requirements, address data-related issues, and support data-driven initiatives.
  • Training and Support: Provide training and support for data management tools, systems, and best practices to ensure accurate data entry and utilization across the organization.
  • Quality Assurance: Conduct regular quality assurance checks to validate data accuracy and consistency and implement appropriate measures to resolve any identified discrepancies.
  • Continuous Learning: Stay up-to-date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and advancements in data management and analysis techniques, and apply them to improve data operations.
  • Team Commitment: Help fill any gaps not specifically defined by this role to ensure overall team success.

Compensation & Benefits:

  • The expected Compensation range for this position is between $65,000 - $132,500 based on full-time schedule
  • Location confirmed job-related skills and experience will be considered in setting actual starting salary
  • A business development incentive equity may be awarded based on eligibility and performance
  • Paid time off subject to eligibility, including paid parental leave, vacation, sick, and bereavement

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related field.
  • Proven experience (5+ years) in data management, data analytics, or a similar product operations role.
  • Strong understanding of master data management principles, data governance, and data quality management.
  • High proficiency in SQL and RDBMS databases (e.g. PostgreSQL), with experience in working with large datasets.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret complex data and provide actionable insights.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Obsessive commitment to quality and continual improvement.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to interact with all levels of the organization, and across various functions such as engineering and commercial teams.
  • Self starter; bias for action and not easily deterred – willing to search out answers to difficult or complex questions.
  • Experience defining requirements and developing applications, reports, analytics tools, and back-end data processing jobs.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with cloud data warehousing technologies (e.g. Snowflake).
  • Knowledge of data modeling technologies such as DataVault.
  • Knowledge of programming languages (e.g., Python, DBT, Elixir) is a plus.
  • Familiarity with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) and data management platforms.
  • CPG background preferred; in particular solid understanding of how product supply chain and brand management work.
