Senior Data Analyst/Engineer

The main purpose of the role is to be responsible for turning data into information, information into insight and insight into business decisions. You will help us discover actionable information hidden in vast amounts of data, monitor performance and quality control to identify reporting improvements and help us make smarter decisions to deliver a better product and experience to our customers and partners.

Duties And Responsibilities

• Interpret data, analyse results using relevant statistical and/or visualisation techniques and provide ongoing reports through automation
• Develop and implement databases, data collection systems, data analytics and other strategies that optimise decision making
• Along with the rest of the team, acquire data from primary or secondary data sources and maintain databases/data systems, including but not limited to:
• Qlik
• PopSQL
• Redash
• io
• Segment
• Firebase
• Google Ads, Analytics and Cloud Services
• Amazon Web Services
• Retool
• MySQL

• Identify, analyse, and interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets
• Work with management to prioritise business and information needs
• Locate and define new process improvement opportunities
• To oversee the department's data integration work, including developing a data model.
• Maintaining a data warehouse and analytics environment
• Writing scripts for data integration and analysis
• Produce scalable, replicable code and engineering solutions that help automate repetitive data management tasks
• Implement and monitor best-in-class security measures in our data warehouse and analytics environment, with an eye toward the evolving threat landscape.
• Handling and mining of large, diverse data sets with an ability to work with both structured and unstructured data
• Building sophisticated dashboards
• Build reports and data visualizations, using data from the data warehouse and other sources
• Develop and distribute reporting as per agreed requirements within the organisation.
• Provide relevant reporting for all stakeholder needs as per agreed timeframes i.e.: weekly, monthly etc.
• Implement reporting requirements/projects to ensure organisational needs are met
• Monitor reporting deliverables to ensure alignment to business SLA
• Translate meta-data into explanatory report and visuals for easy understanding to end user.
• Coordinate and ensure that all data reporting projects are designed, scoped, and delivered to meet the needs of the business.
• Design solutions for new changes or upgrade requirements
• Exercise diligence when granting permissions to all dashboards, reports, graphs etc. developed
• Maintain a positive attitude

Job Requirements

• Proven working experience as a Data Analyst, Data Engineer, or Business Data Analyst (Minimum 5 years of relevant experience)
• Technical expertise in data models, database design development, data mining and segmentation techniques
• Strong knowledge and experience with databases (SQL etc.), programming (XML, JavaScript, Python, or ETL frameworks)
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organise and analyse significant amounts of information with diligence and accuracy
• Adept at queries, report writing and presenting findings
• BS in Mathematics, Economics, Computer Science, Information Management, Statistics or equivalent
• Excellent listening, interpersonal, communication and critical thinking skills.
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively in teams, in both a lead and support role
• Effective time management skills, including demonstrated ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks and projects
