Data Engineer - Internship

The intern will function as a team member on a Data Engineering and Analytics team, working with high volume travel data. Duties include building data pipelines and/or analytic solutions using the Google Cloud Platform. Technologies involved are Big Query, Cloud Composer, DataFlow, and Terraform.

Role And Responsibilities

• Develops, codes, tests and debugs moderately complex data pipeline solutions
• Applies data engineering / analytic skills to work with travel data
• Works with technical staff to understand challenges with analytic products and resolve them.
• Perform data analysis and data profiling
• May design and code test automation scripts
• May design and build prototype applications.

Preferred Qualifications And Education Requirements

• Excellent data analysis and manipulation skills
• Good understanding of relational databases and data warehousing concepts
• Skilled in data transmission and data manipulation
• Skilled in SQL development (writing, troubleshooting, optimizing)
• Skilled in Data Analysis and Data Profiling methods
• Cloud Experience
• Google Cloud Platform, AWS, or Azure
• Familiar with cloud architecture and data pipeline concepts
• Demonstrated coding and/or scripting experience
• Python preferred (also Java)
• Excellent problem-solving skills, logical process thinking, and end-to-end system concepts
