We are looking to add a Data Scientist to our growing data science team to lead exciting machine learning initiatives on our creative services marketplace. You will be involved in projects ranging from job pricing recommendations, JobMatch invitations, and search optimization. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to platform growth and retention by formulating and developing unique machine learning solutions.
Responsibilities
- Manage machine learning projects with high revenue potential from ideation to deployment by envisioning solutions to business problems, collaborating with key stakeholders, and orchestrating effective project execution
- Explore datasets and perform descriptive analysis to guide solutions
- Synthesize model building datasets through data collection/access, preparation, and modification
- Ideate, develop, and assess candidate machine learning models in meeting business objectives
- Optimize model performance by assessing algorithms, tuning parameters, and using our in-house model optimization team
- Build prediction sets and associated data pipelines to make predictions on live data, working alongside developers to deploy the model
- Run model simulations to understand potential impacts on the platform
- Perform quality assurance and documentation of deliverables
Skills Required
- Ability to formulate, prioritize, and manage machine learning projects
- Strong coding skills in Python and SQL
- Experience with R, Amazon SageMaker, Tableau, Excel, Heap, and/or Salesforce is an added benefit
- Presentation skills demonstrating the ability to tell a data story and communicate technical concepts
- Stays current on published state-of-the-art methods, technologies, and applications
- Thrives when presented with big, undefined problems; has an ability to structure and build a plan of attack to solve them
Work Experience & Educational Requirements
- 2-5 years of experience in a data science role
- BSc or BA in a related discipline like computer science, engineering, business, math, or statistics
- A master’s degree in a related discipline is preferred but not required
