Job Description:
Blue Water Thinking is seeking an experienced and dedicated Data Analyst to join our team, supporting a large program within the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA). This individual should be skilled in analyzing and interpreting complex digital data, providing data-driven insights and strategic recommendations.
Responsibilities:
- Collect, process, and analyze large data sets to identify trends and patterns.
- Develop clear visualizations and reports that help to inform strategic decision-making.
- Liaise with a variety of stakeholders to understand their data analysis needs and deliver appropriate solutions.
- Maintain the integrity and accuracy of data through meticulous cleaning and validation processes.
- Use statistical tools to interpret data sets and prepare reports for management and team leaders.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Economics or a related field, or an additional 5 years of relevant experience may be substituted for degree requirements.
- A minimum of 3 years' experience in data analysis or a related field.
- Experience working with government contracts and stakeholders.
- Strong skills in data visualization and reporting.
- Experience with SQL and familiarity with data analysis tools such as Python or R.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's degree in a relevant field.
- Experience in the healthcare sector.
- Previous experience working with the Department of Veterans Affairs or military health systems.
- Experience managing projects that involve integration of medical, behavioral, and social health systems.
- Experience with advanced statistical analysis and machine learning techniques.

Eligibility:
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain the required federal public trust clearance for this role.
Compensation:
Salary for this position is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, location, the candidate's particular combination of knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract specific affordability and organizational requirements. The proposed salary range for this position is $55,000 - $75,000.
