Senior Data Engineer
Motion Industries is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to leverage their development skills and experience to support the successful ingestion, cleansing, transformation, loading, and display of significant amounts of data. You will build/deploy cloud infrastructure components in hybrid cloud environment including primarily GCP and possibly Azure. In this role, you will lead the implementation of solutions with a process-driven view, as well as scheduled maintenance and/or updates to existing structures.

Responsibilities
- Design, create, automate, and maintain sophisticated programs that extract, convert, and load data including into data lakes, data warehouses and data marts
- Perform high-level analysis to establish and support data standards across the enterprise
- Write functional specifications, technical specifications and design document involving complex systems and solutions; Develop re-usable code to help streamline processes
- Solve complex data issues, enable performance improvements and adhere to data quality standards
- Promote efficiency and quality by utilizing streamlined processes, automated solutions and quality control measures as appropriate
- Generate, maintain and communicate documentation pertaining to logical modeling process, including data format, specifications and model release details
- Deliverables are well documented, and knowledge transfer is provided to ensure effective on-call and back-up support.
- Participate in the assessment of new technology solutions for best fit into the Baystate Health technical environment balancing customer needs with technical feasibility and IT architectural standards
- Partner with other infrastructure teams to monitor and ensure the system is stable, reliable and meets service level expectations
- Coordinate with vendors for system specifications, troubleshooting and submission of support incidents
- Build a detailed understanding of the business to identify needs and address critical business issues.
- Support our customers consultatively, offering fresh approaches and value-added solution recommendations
- Follow established IT and Team standards, best practices and release management procedures
- Define valid test plans for identified scope; Work with stakeholders to support business acceptance testing and signoff
- Perform and monitor unit/system/functional testing
- Demonstrate accuracy and thoroughness in defect identification, resolution and documentation
- Ensure acceptability of testing outcomes occur prior to live implementation and defects detected by users in production are minimal
- Participate in team defined on-call rotational support; Provide timely response to problem tickets and issue resolution
- Maintain sufficient knowledge of applications and environment to provide effective on-call or backup support
- Instruct, direct, and/or guide other analysts or team members as needed
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or related field or equivalent work experience.
- Experience designing, building, and implementing distributed cloud systems within cloud environments. GCP is a must.
- Experience with Informatica Data Management Cloud including ETL, Data Catalog and Data Marketplace is a must. Experience with CLAIRE a plus.
- Experience with one or more of the following - CloudFunction, Composer, BigQuery is a MUST.
- Strong software development experience, including significant data analysis/parsing, and SQL/database experience.
- Experience with BigQuery ML or Vertex is a plus.
- Experience working in SAFe Agile environment a plus.
