JOB SUMMARY:

Senior ETL Data Engineer with expertise in Databricks/Spark to join our dedicated, passionate team of professionals. The Senior Data Engineer will report to the Enterprise Data Management Director and be responsible for helping our company succeed by building the next generation Data Ingestion and Analytics Platform.


JOB ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Strong ability to design, build and manage data pipelines for data structures encompassing data transformation, data models, metadata, and workload management. The ability to work with both IT and business in integrating analytics and data science output into business processes and workflows.

2. Deep hands-on development expertise in data architecture, batch, and real-time data integration, Azure Databricks, Synapse analytical warehouse, Apache Spark, relational databases and OLAP (SQL Server)

3. Extensive knowledge of Data Warehousing concepts, strategies, methodologies.

4. Must be team oriented with strong collaboration, prioritization, and adaptability skills required

5. Excellent written and verbal communication skills including presentation skills

6. This role will need to partner with Product and other business reporting teams to understand analytics strategies, metrics, gaps and needs to build relevant data platform solutions and architecture that lead to effective business outcomes

7. Responsible for promoting the available data and analytics capabilities and expertise to business unit leaders and educating them in leveraging these capabilities in achieving their business goals

8. Collaborate, coordinate, and communicate across disciplines and departments.
9. Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and requirements.
10. Demonstrate Company's Core Competencies and values held within.
11. Please note due to the exposure of PHI sensitive data - this role is considered to be a High Risk and privileged Role.

JOB SCOPE:
This role works under minimal supervision in completion of the roles day-to-day responsibilities and effectively keeps the needs of external and internal customers as a priority when making decisions and taking action. Work performed within the roles day-to-day tasks will likely often be varied and complex in nature.

JOB REQUIREMENTS (Education, Experience, and Training):

  • BA/BS required in computer science or similar field with 7 years of professional experience required
  • Experience in ETL/Pipeline Development using tools such as Azure Databricks, Apache Spark and Python
  • Experience in Cloud data warehouse like Synapse
  • Experience with Orchestration tools, Azure DevOps, and GitHub
  • Experience in building end to end architecture for Data Lakes, Data Warehouses and Data Marts
  • Experience in relational data processing technology like MS SQL, Delta lake, Spark SQL
  • Experience with Data Visualization and OLAP tools (PowerBI)
  • Familiarity with Azure services like Azure functions, ADLS, Automation
  • Familiarity with Healthcare business data models

**Pursuant to Colorado’s “Equal Pay for Equal Work Act”, the following salary range is provided solely for applicants living in Colorado. ($110-125K). If an applicant does not live in Colorado, this salary range may not apply. Specific offers take into account a candidate’s education, experience and skills, as well as the candidate’s work location and internal equity. This position is also eligible for health insurance, 401k and bonus opportunity.
