Data Engineer

Piper Companies is seeking a REMOTE Data Engineer for a growing technology driven organization. The Data Engineer role is a 100% remote role that can reside anywhere in the United States. The Data Engineer will be working with a team primarily based on the East Coast. The Data Engineer will support a huge initiative to move current ETL solutions to cloud native data instances.

Responsibilities for the Data Engineer include:

• SSIS and ADF ETL Development
• Design, develop, and tune SQL queries for performance and scalability
• Run data ingestion ad hoc and on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis, ensure the data outcome is correct, and communicate with internal customers
• Assist with the initiative of moving to cloud native instances either in Azure or Snowflake

Requirements for the Data Engineer include:

• Over 5 years of ETL Development experience
• Proficient in SQL and SSIS
• ADF/Databricks or Snowflake experience is a huge plus
• Data modeling experience is a huge plus
• Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate with the business
• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering and/or relevant work experience

Compensation of the Data Engineer:

• $60 – $75/hr
