Overview:

Kemin Industries is seeking a talented and dedicated Market Intelligence & Data Analyst. The successful candidate will be a member of the corporate strategic marketing team responsible for the marketing and management of global/local market trends across the markets we serve and adjacencies.


You will play a crucial role which supports the company’s strategic goals by proactively working on a variety of market research, analyst initiatives and making strategic recommendations. You will perform benchmarking and business, market, and economic analysis.


You will develop tools, methodologies, conduct research & analysis, interpret & evaluate external market indicators, drivers and trends. These will be compared with internal data and translated into executable market and intelligence reports, to assist Kemin to make decisions, apply and achieve growth in our key markets and regions.

Responsibilities:

Responsible for performing research and providing insights regarding the markets, trends, competitors and (future) customers. This position will be a part of the Kemin Industry corporate strategic marketing team, reporting to the Senior Worldwide Marketing Manager.

  • Maintaining an in-depth knowledge of designated markets and trends through primary and secondary research.
  • Interpreting industry and customer data trends to provide insights into business development opportunities.
  • Performing benchmarking and business, market, and economic analysis.
  • Conducting competitor research such as technical literature searches, product comparisons, industry analysis and compiles valuable quantitative and qualitative competitive data on current or new products in the marketplace, market potential and trends, cost, and analyzes and accurately interprets key data before making recommendations based on their findings.
  • Identifying and quantifying product/service/marketing opportunities.
  • Organizing and maintaining key information within various tools linked to the document management system/research database.
  • Having expert knowledge at using electronic document management system, including the ability to critically evaluate and filter the content.
  • Reporting and market research to determine market share and other relevant business environment indicators, monitor competitive environment including competitor products and product reviews.
  • Assisting with surveys and compile results into detailed reports.
  • Conducting financial analysis and reporting - market analysis, forecasting, business performance metrics.
  • Developing on-going reports and data analysis in response to marketing to make critical business decisions.
  • Partnering with vendors, outsourced agencies.
  • Effectively manages timelines and projects.
  • Presenting findings in an appropriate and timely manner to allow the management team to make critical decisions based on key research data.
  • Providing timely, accurate, and relevant information to stakeholders.
  • Working collaboratively across Kemin regions and industries to provide crucial data for colleagues.
  • Conducting competitive business intelligence research and perform data analysis on current or new products and services in the marketplace.
  • Conducting financial analysis and reporting - market analysis, forecasting, business performance metrics.
  • Executing specific analysis needs for the marketing teams driving financial and industry growth decisions.
  • Acts as a liaison for the department, tracking and shepherding projects from beginning to conclusion, and works collaboratively with a diverse team on cross-organizational and departmental (such as I.T., Marketing, Sales, Finance) tactics to support business efforts.
  • Monitors competitive products and market share, sales and marketing activities, and develops category knowledge and understanding to provide useful analysis.
  • Conducting early stage merger, alliance and/or acquisition analysis.
  • Work closely with the global marketing team to optimize efficiencies and synergies.
  • Other job-related duties as needed to support business efforts and to fulfill positive and proactive Marketing, Sales, and Finance efforts.
Qualifications:
  • Master’s degree with 3+ years of experience, or bachelor’s degree with 5+ years, preferably in Marketing, Communications, Economics, Statistics, Business or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in Market Research and/or decision science
  • 3+ years of experience in a corporate market research, new product research, or market research capacity, or marketing agency preferably in animal nutrition and health
  • Background in planning, designing, managing, analyzing, reporting of qualitative and quantitative research studies.
  • Intermediate PC knowledge with MS Office programs (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint & Power BI).
  • Present complex information internally and externally.
  • Handle multiple projects efficiently.
  • Intermediate Project Management skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively in a diverse team environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills (English), problem-solving skills, and critical-thinking skills.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and maintain professional demeanor while working under pressure.
  • Must be a reliable, flexible, and well-organized self-starter.
  • Work well in a fast-paced team environment or independently with limited supervision.
  • Maintain confidentiality and protect intellectual property.
  • Adapt readily and quickly to a changing work environment.
  • Present and communicate ideas and findings effectively to customers, vendors, peers and all levels of management.
  • Good keyboarding/entry proficiency.
  • International market experience highly desired.
