We are looking for a data scientist to join the team, who will play a major role in developing and implementing predictive models to maximise business value & growth through the application of data science techniques. The predictive models created will feed critical business infrastructure, offering a fantastic platform to hone your machine learning skills with direct impact on business objectives. You will work as part of a high-performing data science & insight team with ownership of certain models in the wider modelling eco-system.
The perfect candidate for us will be passionate about working with data and solving problems. You will also have strong discernment for business which drives the end goal of each project to ensure the application of each model is optimal for current business objectives. You will have strong skills in data munging/manipulation which will allow you to navigate and leverage our significant data assets to build the optimal production models.

The advanced analytics and data science function's purpose is to drive competitive advantage through the creation of data products. They do this by applying statistics and machine learning techniques to uncover insights which allow us to build products to support decision making and decision automation across the business.
As part of this group, the data science team has the remit to ensure the eco-system of predictive models & segmentation, which feed critical business infrastructure, are well maintained and offer optimal performance.
The must haves:
Good knowledge of SQL, Python and relevant libraries (numpy, pandas, matplotlib, Scikit-learm, tensorflow, etc…) knowledge in other programming languages would be valuable (Spark, R, Matlab…)
Familiar with A/B testing methodologies and frameworks
Strong mathematics or statistics background gained through MSc/PhD education in scientific field or significant commercial experience in advanced analytics methodologies
Ability to apply knowledge in statistics and machine learning to real world problems
Ability to translate consumer business problems into analytics use cases and requirements

Good interpersonal skills offering ability to explain complex techniques to non-technical audience
Focus on implementation and business impact of modelling through commercial acuity
Proactive can-do demeanor, creative approach in how to use data to solve problems.
Advanced data preparation and munging skills with ability to transform data into suitable formats and outputs.
Ability to visualise and communicate findings in an understandable manner to non-technical users
