We are looking for a talented and passionate Lead Data Scientist to join BrightTALK’s Product Team, working in our Data Science and Engineering team based in the UK.
The Data Science and Engineering Team is responsible for analysing and advancing our platform data to drive our business success.

A significant element of this role will be to apply data science capabilities into our products to advance the value we deliver to our platform users and customers. This may include:

    • Transforming, aligning, cleansing, augmenting and exposing data in order to improved the quality and effectiveness of data consumed by our users and customers
    • Designing and advancing models, data points, analytics and insights that motivate desired behaviour from users and customers
    • Closely coordinating with engineering teams to coordinate data related developments in terms of requirements via documentation, presentations and meetings
    • Closely coordinating with data and non data specialists across the wider business
    • Extracting valuable business insights and trends for internally used reporting and analytics and quill require a
    • Developing a strong understanding of our business, product and motivations of our users and customers
    • You will be playing a major part in a team of data scientists and engineers has a big impact on BrightTALK current and future success!

Responsibilities

    • Undertaking data collection, preprocessing and analysis
    • Building models to address business problems
    • Presenting information using data visualization techniques
    • Defining requirements, and working with, engineers to implement into platform
    • Coordinate with and support team members in delivering team assignments

Skills

    • Proven experience as a Data Scientist or Data Analyst
    • Experience in data mining
    • Understanding of machine-learning and operations research
    • Expert Knowledge of SQL and Python; familiarity with R, Scala, Java or C++ is an asset
    • Experience using business intelligence tools (e.g. Tableau) and data frameworks (e.g. Hadoop)
    • Analytical mind and business acumen
    • Strong math skills (e.g. statistics, algebra)
    • Problem-solving aptitude
    • Excellent communication and presentation skills

Expertise or Qualifications

    • BSc/BA in Computer Science, Engineering or relevant field; graduate degree in Data Science or other quantitative field is preferred
    • Advanced knowledge of AWS tooling an advantage
