Our new Traffic Information team is seeking Data Scientists to innovate the process of notifying customers about real-time train delays,

The goal is clear: We want to be able to predict and inform about any delays across all main lines efficiently and accurately.

Our GenAI team is searching for a Lead Data Scientist to take on a key role, providing direction and training to our colleagues while concentrating on developing and refining the Danish language capabilities in our Large Language Models and Speech Recognition systems.

This position is central to advancing GenAI's innovations and influencing the direction of future transportation technology.

By now, our department comprises three AI/ML development teams, all working according to the Scrum methodology – and all with the same end goal: To deliver sophisticated solutions that address pressing challenges at DSB through innovative use of AI.

Your everyday life as a Data Scientist

As a Data Scientist in AI at DSB, you will collaborate with business experts and other data and AI professionals like AI Engineers, MLOps Engineers, Software Developers, and Business Analysts.

You will primarily

  • Analyze diverse datasets, like audio streams for speech.
  • Prepare structured and unstructured data, maintaining high standards for model training across various data types.
  • Build AI and ML models to support event- and AI-driven daily operations of our trains.
  • Regularly monitor and refine predictive and speech-to-text models to ensure peak accuracy and efficiency.
  • Support initiatives using advanced algorithms and data ontology to boost the capabilities of our ML models and speech recognition systems etc.

We work with cloud-based development on Microsoft Azure and GitHub

For the Lead position in the GenAI team, you'll be responsible for developing and enhancing machine learning models and providing strategic direction and technical oversight to the team.

Who are you?

We are looking for candidates who are highly motivated and engaged in the fields of data analysis and programming.

You have experience with relevant programming languages such as Python and query languages such as SQL, enabling you to efficiently navigate large amounts of data and make complex calculations.

Professionally, you can recognize yourself in some of the following points

  • Understanding of data structures, data modelling, and different machine learning frameworks.
  • Quantitative skills in statistical analysis and algorithm application.
  • Ability to solve complex problems, design experiments, and test hypotheses.
  • Experience in handling and optimizing the Databricks platform for large-scale data processing and machine learning tasks.

Your soft skills enable you to

  • Collaborate effectively with non-technical and technical personnel.
  • Commit to continuous learning, allowing you to stay ahead of industry trends and enhance your proficiencies.
  • Communicate fluently in English.

For the Lead Data Scientist position in the GenAI team, we additionally need

  • Practical experience with Large Language Models and applying machine learning to real-world situations.
  • Hands-on experience with speech recognition frameworks and familiarity with the nuances of audio data processing.
  • Fluency in Danish language, orally and in writing.

Danish language is primarily used across DSB’s core units while English is predominant within our IT department.
