In a nutshell

Bulk is growing rapidly and, in response, we are looking to expand our Data Analytics team with a Senior Data Scientist to help to scale and build on the way data is being used to drive critical business decisions.

You will lead the Data Science function in the Data Analytics team, identifying key opportunities to leverage data through the use of data science techniques and productionize machine learning models to provide insights and shape recommendations to the different teams within the business.

What will you be doing?

• Lead end-to-end multiple high-value eCommerce data science projects around acquisition marketing, CRM and operations. Constantly improve long-term customer value and ensure sustainable growth of the business.
• Build predictive models using ML and AI. This will encompass all parts of moving a model into production including data cleaning/joining, feature engineering, model selection/hyperparameters, data pipelines/scheduling and communicating results to the business.
• Design and implement experiments to produce practical insights and improve model performance
• Drive change in the business based on the recommendations of modelling produced, explaining the findings to senior stakeholders across the organisation.
• Advise on where the team should be focusing its efforts to improve model performance.
• Define and share data science best practices with the team and wider business.
• Write high-quality Python for feature engineering and model training.
• Manipulating data and data processing in Python, SQL and Google Cloud Platform.
• Link and analyse a range of datasets, understand our business logic and generate insights around our business problems.

What are we looking for?

• Significant experience in applying data science techniques to the e-commerce industry including supervised/ unsupervised learning and time-series forecasting.
• Ability to interpret complex business requirements, translating them into analytical problems and delivering high-value outputs.
• Experience in SQL and Python to implement statistical analysis/machine learning models.
• Experience building and deploying machine learning models into production.
• Experience working on cloud platforms (GCP/ AWS/ Azure).
• Experience in managing and scaling a data science team and providing leadership and guidance to developing team members.
• Have a business and economic insight and understand the need for trade-offs between value and cost.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to influence business stakeholders and present data science work to non-technical audiences.
• Ability to collaborate well with other business functions in the business and maintain good working relationships with key stakeholders

Location: London (Liverpool Street)

Our Hybrid Working Pattern: 3 days in the office, 2 days working from home.
