Logistics Data Analyst

The Role:
To design and maintain data systems and databases, use statistical tools to present, advise and inform the Logistics leadership team for core and strategic analyses. This includes the requirement to interpret data, prepare reports and create forecasts that communicate trends and predictions. To work with internal and external stakeholders to plan, conduct and present original data research to capture and improve processes, systems and integrations. Opportunities within the role to grow applicable skills and receive cross-functional training and cooperation may develop.
Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Manipulating, processing and presenting data using Excel, SQL and Tableau
  • Extract actionable insights from databases and reports
  • Support management team by translating data into visualisations, metrics and goals
  • Partner with stakeholders within Operations to help build data platforms and infrastructure
  • Propose, design and execute data-mining opportunities to develop business information in prospective areas
  • Act as the data advocate and representative for Logistics within Abcam for current and future systems
  • Setting and applying data standards for all major import streams
  • Liaising with established data governance teams to ensure compliance and compatibility with business standards and priorities
  • Research and propose new or improved metrics, tools or techniques for application either within the role or across the Logistics team
  • Carrying out specified data processing and statistical techniques
  • Own the design, development and maintenance of metrics, reports, analyses, dashboards
  • Able to recount and replicate analysis methodology for reproducibility and traceability
Skills and Requirements:
  • Excellent Microsoft Outlook, Excel and Power Point skills
  • Excellent communication skills both written and oral, with both internal and external stakeholders on a global level
  • Ability to work with sensitive and privileged data whilst following strictly to compliance protocols
  • Attention to detail and problem-solving skills
  • Demonstrate strong interpersonal and analytical skills
  • Proactive and self-motivated in the approach to tasks
  • Ability to work as part of a team as well as individually with little direction
  • Strong work ethic to get the job completed professionally, within the required timeframes and to the highest standards
  • Knowledge and experience with SQL, Python or Tableau is preferred
