A fantastic opportunity has arisen for four Senior Finance Data Analysts to join our Commercial Finance function. You will play a key role in producing, consolidating, interpreting and improving analysis based on data from a variety of sources.
You will be responsible for maintaining, delivering and improving analytical processes that support senior management by providing clear insights to inform decisions and drive the future long-term performance of the business.
The role involves analysing large sets of financial and non-financial data including volume, pricing and customer data across multiple geographies and seeking to establish trends and ways in which we can improve our financial and business planning and decisions.
A role you will love
In this key role for the business, you will primarily be responsible for the following:
- Using a variety of internal and external data sources to undertake a broad range of analyses covering key aspects of our business. Examples include:
- Customer Analysis – pricing, profitability, cross selling, single view, impact of M&A involving our clients
- Product analysis – volumes, pricing, profitability, viability of new launches
- Competitor Analysis – CPU differentiation, SWOT analysis, opportunities for competitive advantage
- Cost analysis – workforce efficiency / productivity, identify and measure factors which drive cost into our business, discretionary spend effectiveness e.g., marketing, consulting
- Investment analysis – appraise software development proposals or other projects to maximise returns
- Reviewing month end and forecast commentary provided by FP&A and identifying items or variances requiring deeper analysis
- Supporting M&A projects where modelling or analysis is required
- Establishing the most appropriate data sources on which to base our analyses
- Creating and maintaining financial models to facilitate the above analyses as well as ‘what if’ scenarios and sensitivities
- Interpreting the completed analysis and identifying the key findings, such that we can answer the crucial question of ‘so what?’
- Taking findings and conclusions from analysis performed and:
- Presenting recommendations to the Lead Business Partner and / or the relevant business manager
- Identifying and communicating potential business improvements
- Providing input to the budget / forecast / 5YP processes to improve our financial planning
- For new initiatives, products or investments, tracking actual performance against original analysis / modelling
- Recommending ways in which analysis can be standardised and simplified across regions and business units in order to deliver more efficiently
What will you bring to the role?
To excel in this role, it is expected that you will possess much of the following experience:
Essential
- Significant experience of financial and non-financial analysis, ideally within a professional services, financial services or Fintech environment
- Experience in data management and data analysis in relational databases and in the latest 3rd party data analytic software
- Advanced Excel skills with modelling experience and proficient in PowerPoint
- Expert at problem solving and critical thinking
- Highly experienced at thinking outside the box and coming up with new solutions
- Significant experience of quantitative and qualitative analysis and modelling using complex data from multiple sources
- Experience in managing small to medium scale projects with demonstrated success
- Significant experience of meeting deadlines with high attention to detail
- Desire to get right underneath the DNA of the business
- Strong modelling and database skills required
- Bachelor’s degree (B.A./B.S.) or equivalent in a discipline requiring numeracy, problem solving or analytical thinking, e.g., economics, statistics, engineering, computer science, data science, business analytics, finance/accounting
Preferred
- CFA or appetite to study for CFA qualification would be encouraged
- ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualified (or local equivalent) would also be relevant
- Master’s degree in a quantitative field or relevant field
- Experience with visualization software such as Tableau or business intelligence tools
- Experience with multiple AI/ML Algorithms, C++ or Java and SQL and database management.
- ERP (Oracle, SAP, Workday, other) experience
