Amazon Advertising seeks the world's brightest leaders to enable advertisers to reach customers across our owned and operated sites, on other high-quality publisher sites across the web, and on millions of desktops, mobile, and connected TV devices. We start with the customer and work backwards in everything we do, including advertising. We seek candidates who want to join a team focused on building large-scale systems that integrate across multiple sources to provide unique advertising products. These products drive marketing investments into Amazon by giving advertisers the controls and data necessary to demonstrate the efficacy of Amazon advertising.

We are seeking a Principal Data Scientist with management experience (or a manager with hands-on experience who would like to get in on the ground floor of a new organization) to help with launching an analytics and insights team for our Non-Endemic business verticals, including Finance, Automotive, Hospitality, Entertainment, and Telecom. Initially this will be an individual contributor position with the potential for managing a growing a team once we scale the organization.

  • PhD in a technology discipline (e.g., Computer Science, Mathematics, Machine Learning, AI, Statistics, or equivalent)
  • Proficiency in classical machine learning and/or deep learning
  • Advertising or ad tech industry experience
  • Experience managing Machine Learning Scientists, Data Scientists, Research Scientists, Applied Scientists, and/or Economists
  • Management experience working on cross-functional projects.
  • Proficiency in SQL or Python
