Job Introduction
Reporting to the Data Platform Tech Lead, the Data Engineer will play a key role in the implementation of Reach’s Data Platform - the Data Lake and Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW) in particular.
The Data Lake is built using AWS services including Athena, Glue and S3 and the EDW is built within Amazon Redshift.

This is a 100% remote role within the UK.

Key Responsibilities
- Provisioning AWS infrastructure using Infrastructure-as-Code (IAC) tools
- Monitoring the data platform and loading data into Redshift
- Liaising with data and BI engineers, data modellers and non-technical stakeholders to ensure that your work always contributes to achieving Reach’s broader data strategy.
- Creating documentation of processes and related design decisions.
- Uphold Reach's policy around diversity and inclusion and work to ensure our values around non discrimination are upheld in everything we publish.
The Ideal Candidate
- Understanding of unit testing for data processes
- Focused on the customer & deepening customer loyalty, as well as resourceful at identifying ways to improve the customer experience
- A fan of data and a believer in the opportunities it can unlock.
- Articulate communicator capable of inspiring collaboration within an organisation and between teams.
- Ability to manage personal workload on multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
- A self-starter with a can-do, will-do attitude
Qualifications & Experience
- Proven experience with Python for data processing and knowledge of SQL - DML & DDL
- Experience working with enterprise-level data warehouses - experience of operating in media or technology industries would be desirable but not required
- Experience building data pipelines and orchestrating workflows in an enterprise environment.
- Experience of the Kimball methodology for data warehousing; where and how to implement the models to maximise the performance of Redshift.
- Ideally has IaC experience and knowledge of the underlying AWS constructs and services.
