Cloud Data Engineer

Location: Austin, TX or Remote

ClearDATA is seeking a talented Cloud Data Engineer to join our rapidly growing company. This is an excellent opportunity for you to showcase your technical skills while being part of the Health Care revolution of organizations moving to the Cloud.

As a Cloud Data Engineer, you will develop and implement all aspects of public cloud-based data and analytics solutions. Your technical expertise is required across all phases of the data lifecycle. You'll collaborate with and coordinate with the efforts of architects and other engineers, while ensuring solutions meet real business needs.

What You'll Do:

• Translate specifications into code
• Use scripting, automation, and agile approaches
• Build solutions for all phases of cloud data and analytics
• Implement state-of-the-art security and privacy controls via appropriate technologies and techniques for identity, data access grants, encryption, key management, logging and auditing
• Create appropriate documentation

What You'll Need:

Technical Skills and Experience

• 3+ years building data and analytics solutions on public cloud

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent experience.

• Solid experience in AWS and Azure data implementations utilizing cloud-native and 3rd party solutions, GCP expertise a plus
• Experience in general cloud deployments and/or migrations
• Associated cloud certifications strongly recommended
• Cloud automation and agile technologies: CFT, ARM, Terraform, Gitflow, Jenkins, etc.

• Experience with the following data and analytics tooling and technologies:
• Ingestion pipelines (batch, microbatch, streaming)
• Object storage
• Cloud-native and 3rd party ETL/ELT (e.g. AWS Glue, Azure Data Factory, Cloud Dataflow, Airflow, Informatica, Matillion, Talend)
• Cataloging and metadata (e.g. Glue, Informatica, Collibra, Talend, Alation, Hive, Hbase)
• Cloud-native data warehousing and related (e.g. Redshift, Synapse, BigQuery, Snowflake)
• Data lake designs (e.g. Object Store Data Lakes, Lakehouse, Delta Lake)
• Big Data file formats and compression
• Classic and next-gen RDBMS (e.g. RDS, Aurora, Azure SQL)
• Cloud-native and open source NoSQL technologies
• Data Science processing and tooling (e.g. EMR, HDInsight, Databricks, Cloud Dataproc, Sagemaker)
• Reporting technologies and applications (e.g. PowerBI, Tableau)
• FaaS
• Relevant languages and frameworks such as Python, PySpark, Java, SQL, Javascript

What Will Make You Stand Out:

• Experience working in healthcare or other regulated industries
• AWS Big Data, GCP Data Engineer, or Azure Data Engineer Associate certifications
• Data Science/AI with current frameworks and tools (e.g. TensorFlow, PyTorch, scikit-learn, SageMaker, Keras)
